About The Firsty Cafe

Set inside a social club on Aylestone Road in Aylestone, The Firsty Cafe serves breakfast to anyone walking in off the street, with club membership available to sign up for at the same address. The full English comes in small, medium and large sizes, with coffee included, and a veggie breakfast with veggie sausages sits alongside it. Hot and cold cobs are made up for takeaway if you would rather eat elsewhere. No booking is taken, so seats go to whoever arrives. The building brings a bar and space that can be hired for private parties, which suits groups planning an event. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a kerb or stair, and free parking on site, including a car park at the rear, covers arrivals by car. The kitchen runs Wednesday through Saturday during the daytime, and the cafe stays closed on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.

Customer Review Summary

The full English anchors nearly every account, ordered in small, medium or large depending on appetite, with several calling it filling and good value. Close behind is the cooked quality reviewers single out: mushrooms done in butter described as perfect, and a veggie breakfast whose veggie sausages one committed meat eater called the best they had eaten, recommending them even to non vegetarians. Cold cobs to take away and free coffee with a breakfast also come up, and more than one reviewer describes becoming a regular. Staff draw repeated mention as friendly, welcoming and up for a chat, and one reviewer who hired the venue for a child's birthday party found the bar well stocked and the place clean throughout. The main reservation is the building itself: one diner notes it needs some TLC, adding that the owners are working on it. Another suggests taking out a membership at the club that houses the cafe, and one finds the smallest breakfast more than enough.

  • Lu Donne
“We hired the venue the weekend just gone for my son’s birthday party. It’s a really great place, the owners are very nice and we’re really helpful in the run up to the party. The bar has a good choice of drink and very good prices. Really clean everywhere and just a generally good atmosphere, I couldn’t fault them anywhere, highly recommend”
  • Julie Marsden
“Had breakfast here on a Saturday, it was quiet with plenty of seating. The 3 of us had a medium which beat 2 of us. Food was one of the best we’ve had, mushrooms cooked in butter… perfect. Exceptional value for money. Really friendly staff made it even better. The building is in need of some tlc which the owners are addressing so please don’t let that put you off. If you want a really good traditional English breakfast in Leicester, then look no further. Thanks from Stuart, Julie & Carpet Bill”
  • Kelvin Thorndyke
“Substantial full English at a really good price. Small, medium and large on offer depending on your appetite. Personally, I find the small to be more than enough. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.”
