About Hollys
On St Martins in Leicester, Hollys is a cafe serving breakfast until 11.30am, after which sandwiches, jacket potatoes and salads take over the menu. Sandwiches come on thick cut bread with generous filling, and eggs are offered scrambled or poached alongside them. A pot of tea is poured with enough for several cups, and hot chocolate is a regular order at the counter. Hollys works on a walk-in basis, with no need to book ahead, and lunchtime can bring a wait for food. The entrance is step-free, giving visitors with mobility needs easy access into the cafe, and outdoor seating is available for anyone who prefers to eat outside. It opens Tuesday to Saturday during the day, staying closed on Mondays and Sundays. Toilets are located upstairs.

Customer Review Summary
Sandwiches draw the most mentions, with diners singling out a beef, stilton and onion chutney sandwich and a falafel and halloumi one that is hard to eat tidily, along with lovely bread and plenty of filling. The hot chocolate comes close behind, with one reviewer saying they will hardly find a better one in Leicester, and the coffee and a pot of tea big enough for three cups also get praise. Breakfast earns its own following, from a lovely English breakfast to scrambled or poached eggs on proper thick cut bread. Reviewers repeatedly call the staff friendly and welcoming and the prices reasonable. On the downside, one reviewer calls the exterior a tiny bit run-down, though the inside wins them over. A busy Saturday lunch meant a wait for food, but the staff beat the time estimate they gave.

“Fabulous little coffee shop. Everybody was really friendly and welcoming, and the falafel & halloumi sandwich was smashing - hard to eat tidily which is the mark of a great sarnie!”

“Popped into Leicester for a day out and stumbled across lovely cafe! We both had one of their sandwiches which was served on lovely bread with plenty of filling! Very reasonably priced meal for this day and age, I hope to come back soon. (They also do an excellent hot chocolate)”
