About Miners Fisheries
Miners Fisheries is a fish and chips takeaway in Leeds, at 2A Clough St. The kitchen serves traditional fish in batter alongside chips, and scraps can be added to an order. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return to Miners Fisheries for traditional fish and chips, above all the flaky fish in crispy batter, with one saying it melts in the mouth and another praising a good-sized cod. Close behind are the chips, which several call great tasting, and one who thought they looked undercooked says they came out perfectly cooked. Low prices and generous portions come up repeatedly, including a big box of chips and curry sauce with scraps. The staff are called friendly and lovely, with one reviewer noting they are especially good with kids. A scallop butty also earns a mention as very nice. The few complaints are small: the menu is limited, curry sauce comes only in a small size so one reviewer buys four instead of two large, and one asked for a spamfitter butty but was handed a scallop butty. Reviewers also mention that parking is easy nearby, and one calls it a regular local that is always busy.

“Been a while since I been to the miners chippy. Probably not since the Rock closed. Used to be a Friday ritual,, start in the miners arms, 4 pints of Tetleys bitter, on to the rock for a couple more until closing. Then miners chippy for home. So anyways Howies in Batley has closed. Dont drink anymore, only good place I could think of was Miners, and it didnt fail me,, equally as satisfying as Howies. Cooked to perfection.. 3 fish and 2 chips made my family very happy. Only thing that had me puzzled was what happened to the rock and why were all the people hanging around the bottom of station Rd & Chapel hill. Times must have changed. Where did all the tetley pubs go,, long time passing..”

“Love this local fish and chip shop! It’s only about an 8-minute walk from me which is so handy. Everyone who works there is really lovely, especially with kids. It’s always busy, which says it all! The food is amazing — the fish literally melts in your mouth and the prices are really reasonable. I’ve recommended it to a few people and they’ve tried it as well. Thank you everyone 😊”
