Quick info
About 美食之家 Noodle House
美食之家 Noodle House is a Chinese noodle restaurant at 20 Merrion St in Leeds, bringing Cantonese roast meats and Malaysian hawker-style cooking together under one roof. That pairing means one table can order from both traditions. On the roast side, Char Siu is served with rice, and diners can order a plate of three roast meats with rice. The Malaysian side of the menu includes laksa and char kway teow, so noodle dishes sit alongside the barbecued meats rather than apart from them. The room is small, and the menu is large.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the roast meats, especially the three roast meats with rice, alongside Char Siu and Crispy Belly Pork. Close behind are the Malaysian dishes: one diner calls the char kway teow what they would get at a hawker stall in Malaysia or Singapore, and another points to the Hofun Beef, Stewed beef noodles and Laksa Noodles. Salt and pepper spare ribs and rice with duck also get mentions. Portions are described as decent or huge, prices as reasonable, and food and service as quick, with friendly staff. One parent says staff checked about the children's allergies, and another says the kids received a free chocolate and spring rolls. The main criticisms are narrow: one reviewer found the fried noodles too oily and wanted a sweeter, fattier Char Siu. Takeaway also gets a mention, with one order still tasting great after an hour.

“Absolute gem of a restaurant. Fantastic, authentic Malaysian peninsula cuisine in an hawker style restaurant. Been here a few times and is exactly what I'd get in a Malaysian or Singaporean hawker store. Can really recommend the char kway teow.”

“First time visit today, after seeing recommendations online. Didn't disappoint. Short wait to be seated, great service. Staff were really friendly. Food was great - had three roast meats and rice and it was superb. Now I need to go back and explore the menu. A great authentic style restaurant”

“Can't fault the food here. We've been here many times since I first came to Leeds 2 years ago. Just visited again today and I was so impressed as usual. Today we had salt and pepper spare ribs, stir fried noodles and my friend had rice with ducks. They're all tasty with a decent portion and reasonable prices. I'm not wondering why they're always busy. As the food is great, service is quickz Staff are also very friendly and attentive!! Thanks a ton ✨😁💗”
