What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention cooked breakfast, sausage, black pudding and bacon butty.
Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what most reviewers return to, described as cooked to perfection, with the sausage singled out repeatedly as a highlight, even by one who notes sausages are often soggy. Black pudding gets a mention in both the small breakfast and the all day breakfast, and one reviewer calls it the best breakfast they have ever had. Close behind is the bacon butty, called excellent, along with sausage rolls, cake and a giant tea cake. One diner, on a recommendation, found the pie, chips, peas and gravy absolutely delicious, and another praises a good espresso. Reviewers describe the food as good quality, very tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff as friendly and polite, with one noting their food request was accommodated very well. The one criticism is that the downstairs seating could do with some atmosphere, though another reviewer enjoyed its out of the way feel. Several mention stopping in for breakfast before a train from the neighbouring station. One recalls the owner heating the grill shortly before closing to make a sausage and bacon sandwich.

“I visited this lovely little cafe today as I was in Leeds to pick up a car with my son-in-law and as we were early as I like to be we decided to get a a breakfast from a nearby venue. I was so happy we were very early as I had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had at this wonderful place. I'd like to add a little context to how highly that rates this little gem. I worked 30 years in the building trade and covered the whole of the UK either lodging away or travelling so this also is a comparison of hotel breakfasts too, whilst not being a picky eater I know good food when I taste it and everything on my plate was brilliant perfectly cooked so tasty and the sausage test passed with such high marks. I had the small breakfast costing just £7.50 which was just enough for me after stealing the son-in-law's black pudding and I'm a big eater I stand at 5"11 and 21st and it set me up lovely for the day. Now to mention the staff the 2 very lovely ladies were friendly professional and a pleasure to meet. I never write reviews unless I'm suitably astounded and today I was, it was so good I would definitely make the 80mile round trip from Doncaster purely to sample this wonderful food again. Thanks station diner you made a broken old builder a very happy chap today 👏👏”

“Hidden little Headingly gem! Very cozy, family run business serving an absolutely gorgeous, cooked to perfection breakfast where even the often so soggy sausage becomes a highlight. You'll even get a good espresso and the necessary bottle of water for your trip when taking the train from the station that it sits right next to. I'll be back 💗”
