Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the breakfast buffet as the standout, with several calling it the best they’ve had lately. The poached eggs, natural yogurt with honey, and allergy-conscious service also earn repeated praise, with one reviewer noting a staff member took time to walk through the allergy guide and ensure a safe, cross-contamination-free meal. A birthday party package is highlighted as an excellent deal with plenty of kids’ food choices. However, multiple reviews describe service and communication failures, including unexplained ordering procedures, missing kids’ menus, long waits for vegetarian carvery mains, and delayed desserts on a set menu. One reviewer reports a poor experience for coeliac diners due to limited wheat-free options. A few also note temperature issues with the carvery, though one mentions the meal was refreshed when raised.

“It's a brewers fayre with a set menu. Nothing fancy but ok. Plenty of room inside and out. Parking - your car registration needs to be put into a screen on arrival. The staff were friendly.”

“Typical Brewers Fayre place. Don't bother going if you are coeliac or have other allergies. Very poor and limited options if you don't want a curry, steak or gammon. Everything else has wheat, even when there's no need. My local pub has 10 …”

“The manager will be expecting this review. - Never been to a Brewers Fayre, the etiquette of ordering was not explained. Therefore we sat at the table for 15 minutes not realising that we had to go to the bar to order. Why was this not explained when we were sat down? - No kids menus were given to us (we had two young children (toddler age) with us). I witnessed another customer ask for kids menus, so my frustration can't be an "isolated incident" implied by the manager...I'm just the customer taking the time to make a complaint. - Waited in the queue to get a vegetarian carvery, only to be told that I had to wait again for the main part of my meal. Another 10 minutes and then had to queue again for the carvery; standard operating procedure for those of us with dietary requirements. I was informed I could've put my requirements in a comments section when I made my booking...but how did I know what I was going to eat before I came? I may of chosen the Thai green curry not a veggie carvery? Why was it not explained that an additional wait was required for the vegetarian main for the carvery? - After we'd eaten our mains, I had to ask how the dessert I'd ordered as part of the mother's day set menu would come to our table. "It'll be along after I clear your table" Half an hour goes by...no dessert...I ask again "I'll put a push on" I was told. Another 10 minutes..(for some ice cream in a glass with a wafer) - at this point I'd had enough, poor service, poor communication, a mother's day meal ruined. I received an empty apology from the manager and borderline argumentative comments from his female counterpart..."well I offered you a free drink and things for the kids to do" A free drink does not make up for an awful dining experience and activities for children (colouring etc) has (in our experience, when dining at Harvester/Farmhouse Inns etc) been standard practice (we always bring activities from home with us for the children & never rely on there being ones provided). But considering children's menus weren't offered, I guess it isn't. The manager said our issues/complaints were "isolated", therefore was I the cause of the problems? - "we are busy" the manager explained. I work for a large retailer which took £132,000 on Mothering Saturday, do you think my customers would be accepting of such an excuse and the fact that it felt no busier than a week day in other restaurants I've frequented, makes me think it wasn't busy; lots of empty tables too. - almost 2 hrs for 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals. If you've made it this far, in a nutshell, I won't be visiting this restaurant again or the brand in general and will be telling others not to visit also. Feel free to go if you're ok with poor service and being made to feel that you're a problem. I'm not writing this to illicit a response from the restaurant or for any offer of vouchers/compensation etc. First impressions count, and unfortunately we wouldn't return even if this was offered. Further messages to be sent to customer services.”

“Typical brewers Fayre food, but the staff make it for the place, always a lovely atmosphere, I’ve stayed here 3 times in all and nothing is too much trouble for them, and the poached eggs are exemplary ❤️and natural yogurt and honey are to die for.”
- Julie Collins
“Excellent service from Aleisha and Luke. As I’m gluten free, Aleisha took the time to sit at our table and go through the allergy guide. My breakfast order was then taken, and cooked to order to avoid cross contamination. Nothing was too much trouble, and I felt important rather than a nuisance. Thank you.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
