About Loch Leven's Larder
Loch Leven's Larder is a working family farm and cafe three miles from Kinross, set on the Loch Leven Heritage Trail. Two eating areas operate on site, the Larder Café and the Greenhouse Café, with a main restaurant and a separate café between them. The menu includes toasties, soup and scones. A farm shop alongside sells local produce, condiments, nut butters and local beer. Lavender fields grow on the grounds, and paths lead out for walks, including one down to Loch Leven. Children have a playground in the field next door, and dogs are welcome. The main restaurant can have a wait at busy times.

Customer Review Summary
The farm shop anchors most visits, with reviewers praising its local produce and taking home condiments, nut butters and a local beer. Close behind are the stunning terrace views over Loch Leven. Food draws steady praise, including the smoked salmon toast, daily soup, a baby potato and avocado open sandwich with balsamic glaze, a chicken supreme salad, a cheese scone and a juicy sausage roll with flaky pastry. The coffee and a chai latte are also liked. The main complaints concern service and crowding. One party skipped the main restaurant because of a long wait and ate in the cafe instead. One cyclist with a dog found no clear table service outside and was told dogs are not allowed inside. That reviewer called the staff curt, walking off without a word, and said the decaf latte arrived lukewarm and overpriced. Other reviewers describe welcoming staff and a lovely waitress. Several mention the playground beside the outdoor seating and the path down to the loch.

“Arrived for lunch first time here, very busy and only outside tables available which was absolutely fine as it was a lovely early Autumn day. Wasn't over enamoured by the menu, but ordered the chicken supreme salad which was delicious, and coffee was of good quality. Glad we sat outside as the views were stunning. Staff appeared busy and organised. Delightful shop, made some purchases . Would come back and hope the menu would change regularly.”

“Terrific and beyond my expectation food! Great quality and exquisite tastes. I’d love to come back here in my future trips to Scotland! The shop, the farm view, the cafe, the coffee, the staff. Perfection! For food, we got the smoked salmon toast and the daily soup.”

“Immaculately kept, with genuinely lovely staff and a beautifully curated selection of produce. The terrace has excellent views, and we liked it enough to come back several times. It’s the kind of place where you can have a really good coffee, browse the shop and let the kids enjoy the playground without feeling rushed. It is admittedly a little polished and commercial, but it still manages to retain plenty of charm.”
