About Yoriya
On Castle St in Kingston Upon Thames, Yoriya is a Korean restaurant built around bowls of rice or noodles with a choice of two toppings. That format lets each diner assemble their own bowl instead of ordering a fixed plate. Beyond the bowls, the menu includes chicken katsu served with rice and curry, sweet and sour chicken, and spring rolls as a side. Most dishes come in a choice of small or large portion, so a lighter appetite and a bigger one can both order from the same menu.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the chicken rice bowls, with sweet and sour chicken named repeatedly, described as juicy and saucy, alongside sweet chilli chicken and chicken katsu with curry. Close behind are the tempura prawns, which one visitor returned for almost daily, and the tofu katsu, called generously heaped. Dumplings, tteokbokki and spring rolls also get mentions. Many call the food inexpensive for the portion size, and one compares it favourably with Kokoro for taste and cost. Students and gym-goers describe it as a regular stop after revision or a workout, and the staff are called lovely and friendly, with the person serving praised for generous portions. The one caveat comes from a reviewer who arrived near closing, when the katsu and chicken had been sitting in the food warmer rather than cooked fresh, though it was still crunchy and drew no complaint. Several mention tables both outside and inside, where diners can stay as long as they like.

“Absolutely loved the food at Yoriya! 🥢❤️ It’s a small Asian takeaway, but honestly, don’t let the size of the place fool you the food is SO good! The tempura prawns were easily my favourite. They were so delicious that I actually kept going back almost every day during my holiday just for them! 😍 We also tried the chicken katsu rice, chilli chicken and rice, dumplings, spring rolls and tteokbokki, and honestly, everything was just too good. Every dish was packed with flavour and there wasn’t anything we ordered that disappointed. What made the experience even better was the service. The lady serving us was absolutely lovely, so friendly and welcoming, and the service was brilliant every time we visited. It really made such a difference and added to the overall experience. Even though it’s a small shop, I absolutely loved it. Sometimes the little places like this end up being the ones you remember most, and Yoriya was definitely one of those for me. If you’re around the area, definitely give this place a try! And seriously, don’t leave without trying the tempura prawns they were incredible! 😋”

“Quite Literally some of the best Asian cuisine I’ve had in a while, It tasted authentic, fresh and packed flavour. For the amount I paid for, it was worth every penny, I would highly recommend to anyone who comes across it. Overall, it was relatively cheap, quick service, friendly worker, tasty food and Absolutely worth it.”

“The tofu katsu was so wonderfully delicious, and very generously heaped. If you’re thinking of a katsu curry at spoons, STOP in your tracks and make the walk here!! Plus 4 spring rolls £1 is pretty darn good…”
