Quick info
About The Tap House, Hartlebury Pub & Restaurant
The Tap House, Hartlebury Pub & Restaurant is a family run gastropub on Station Rd in Kidderminster. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, which lets owners bring their companions along when they visit. Guests can sit in the bar or the restaurant, depending on the kind of visit they have in mind. The pub and restaurant operate together as one gastropub, so a drink at the bar and a sit-down meal share the same address. Steak is among the mains on the menu. Reservations are required, so tables are booked ahead of a visit.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the food, with steak the dish named repeatedly: one steak main is called well cooked, and a steak and ale pie is described as the best one a diner has eaten. Close behind are a 10oz gammon melt that one Sunday diner singles out and a large, delicious lasagne. Staff are called friendly and welcoming, including to a diner who brought a dog, and food is described as piping hot and served in a timely way. Several mention a nice atmosphere in the bar area, and the family-run feel comes up as well. One reviewer says the pub is always busy and that a table needs booking. The complaints are fewer but specific. One group of six found the fish and chips nothing special, waited around 45 minutes for dessert after slow mains, then learned the ice cream flavours the children ordered were unavailable, so the adults had finished before the children were served. Another reviewer lost a star because the bread with the wild boar terrine arrived burnt.

“First time visting the Taphouse certainly won't be our last. Food was delicious & piping hot. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff. Highly recommend a visit”

“I’ve been here a few times before and it’s always been okay, but today’s visit was really disappointing. We were a group of six, and the food was average at best – the fish and chips, in particular, was nothing special. The biggest issue was the service. After finishing our mains which took a long time, we waited around 45 minutes for dessert. When two of the desserts finally arrived, we were then told they didn’t have the ice cream flavours the children had ordered. By the time the children’s desserts were served, all of the adults had already finished theirs. It took around 2.5 hours for just two courses, which is far too long. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we wouldn’t be rushing back.”

“Found this lovely little place on the Google maps when looking for somewhere different to take wife out for meal on our wedding anniversary. No complaints what's so ever. Absolutely brilliant service and food was excellent. Every thing was very good and will be back there again, hopefully with family when they visit.”

“Found the Tap House purely by chance and so glad we did. Had some great food, great beer and the service was just perfect. We called on Monday evening so it was fairly quiet, but still a nice atmosphere. Steak was cooked well, lasagne a large portion and delicious. Quality food at very reasonable prices. We will certainly be back if travelling through the area.”
