About The Admiral Collingwood
The Admiral Collingwood is a Wetherspoon pub in Ilfracombe on Wilder Rd, with an upstairs roof garden and balcony that look out over the sea and the town. Upstairs also has its own eating area and bar alongside the downstairs. The kitchen serves breakfast, including eggs Benedict, and moves on to gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices for lunch and dinner. The drinks list covers real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks, and tea and Lavazza coffee come with free refills. Customers can order through the Wetherspoon app and have drinks brought to the table. The pub stands on the main street, near the harbour front, the shops, the theatre and the museum.

Customer Review Summary
The upstairs roof garden and bar, with views of the sea and town, is what reviewers raise most, and several call it a great bonus over a downstairs that is much like any other Wetherspoons. Breakfast comes close behind: an eggs Benedict described as very good, an all day breakfast served hot without a long wait, and a big fry-up washed down with a pint of Stella. The food is called cheap and cheerful and consistent with other branches, though one reviewer finds prices a little above an inland local. Staff are described as friendly, efficient and welcoming, and one barman is singled out for his enthusiasm delivering drinks. The main complaint comes from a single two-star review, where a server insisted two well-behaved children sit with their parents even though every table on the balcony was free, and the person serving drinks came across as unfriendly. The pub's spot near the harbour front, theatre and museum also earns mentions. One group enjoyed friends back home sending drinks through the app straight to their table.

“The Admiral Collingwood wasn't just a pub during our 48-hour escape from Norfolk—it was our basecamp, our dining hall, our evening retreat, and, crucially, our designated emergency poo pit stop. The real highlight of the trip, however, was bringing along an older mate who had somehow made it this far in life without ever visiting a Spoons. Watching him discover the concept of "wine on tap" was like watching a Victorian time traveler discover electricity. But when he realised that our friends back home could beam drinks directly to our table via the app, the man basically ascended to a higher plane of existence. He was absolutely living his best life. I mean, where else on this planet can you demolish a massive fry-up and wash it down with a pint of Stella for £7? Nowhere, that’s where. It fueled our mornings, capped off our nights, and provided safe harbor for our bowels. An absolute institution. This has inspired a tour around the UK to visit as many Wetherspoons as we can in the next 12 months.”

“First time visiting here, downstairs very much the same as other Wetherspoons but the upstairs eating and bar is a great bonus. Not too busy when I visited and is close to a row of shops and the museum, and a small beach area and nicely kept gardens Well worth a visit.”

“Fantastic spoons with a view. Clearly utilised so much space for outside dining and drinks too which is what is needed.”

“Food was standard Weyherspoons, which i always approve of (cheap and cheerful, and consistent across the country) Service was exceptional - one of the male barstaff was incredibly enthusiastic when delivering drinks to the table. The upstairs roof garden with view of the town and the sea was amazing! One of the best spoons I've been to”
