  “Absolutely lovely time had at Heanton Court. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Nia & Char both served us and were so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was really good quality and very tasty. We ate in the bar area which was lovely and cosy. A really lovely dining experience which unfortunately is rare nowadays.”

  “Lovely views across the estuary and lovely staff who were very friendly and offered service with a great smile. We sat out on the patio in the afternoon sun and lived the good life. The seating inside looked very comfortable and cosy and in winter they have a great fire. Loads of parking and so very convenient. Give it a go.”

  “Just had dinner at Heanton Court. My husband, myself and two teenagers (plus our puppy daucshund) We all throughly enjoyed our meals, my husband said it was the best burger he'd ever had! I had the Katsu bowl which was yummy 😋”

  “Really lovely building and view. Overall food was average at best. Came for a roast was disappointed. Most of the veg was undercooked basically not far off raw, the roast potatoes were awful but the meat and gravy was lovely. And the vegetarian wellington was great. Staff were friendly and service was quick.”

  “Fabulous Sunday Roast and Signature Burger this lunchtime. The food was piping hot and tasty and the portions were great! Beautiful to be sat outside under a parasol in such a beautiful location.”

  “I have my own restaurant and : Food was honestly so lovely but the service was just so slow. More than 3 people at the bar and 2 staff members were in slow motion. When you did get to the front you were met by a woman called Belle (I think this was her name) who clearly hates her job and wanted to do anything but serve you. Served drinks in hot glasses out of the dishwasher and huffed at you when you asked for a cold glass, was generally so slow and lacked any sense of wanting to be there. In turn, this ruined the atmosphere and you would all be stood at the bar waiting to be served by someone for 25 minutes when there were only 4 or 5 of you to be served by someone who clearly just wanted to be anywhere else. Waited over 40 minutes for some ice cream to come out for my son’s dessert too! Whilst the food was honestly fantastic, for the prices paid, better service is a must and if I’m honest, table service inside. If you are dropping over £100 on a family of 3 for dinner, you expect not to be treated like a dog poo on the bottom of the bar staffs shoes! Lovely meal but probably won’t be returning.”

  “Lovely place. Visited since I was a child with my parents and now drop in after a walk along the Tarka Trail with my own kids. Lots of outdoor seating. Varied menu to suit all tastes, good beer/wine/snack selection. Service is polite. Tried the Belgian fries this time and they were lovely, good taste combo. (The chip portions are quite small though really...small little plant pot of chips 😂) Lovely view from the terraced area and plenty of free parking if you drive. (Pot holes at the top of the drive in are not great mind) 2 small swings for the kids to play on and large grassed area for the kids to run around. Accessible from the Tarka Trail and also the main road. It's a a nice pub to sit next to the fire when it's been cold and horrible outside and have a nice meal or to sit on the terrace when the sun is blazing and enjoy the day. Will keep returning for many years to come I am sure. 🤩”

  “Always a fab experience at Heanton Court! We visited last Sunday for Father’s Day and there was a set menu for this day. This was my first visit since being diagnosed with coeliac disease earlier this year and the waiting staff couldn’t have been more helpful with answering my questions and checking how food was prepared and cooked. I felt safe eating here and the food was delicious!! Big shout out to our waitress, unfortunately didn’t get her name but she said the chef was her partner! She let me know how dishes could be adapted to suit my dietary requirements, for example the mushroom starter could be served with a gluten free roll that came packaged up so no risk of cross contamination. Sea bass main course was super yummy and then our fab waitress offered me a slice of cheesecake that was also gluten free for dessert that wasn’t originally on the set menu!!”

  “Had the absolute best valentines meal here ! The food was stunning, the steak was the best steak I've ever eaten (I'm a huge steak fan) The log fire was stunning and the value for money well £30 for a 3 course meal! I would of paid double easy! ❤️❤️ We travelled an hour and it definitely didn't disappoint.”
