Quick info
About New Willerby Kitchen
On Willerby Rd in Hull, New Willerby Kitchen is a Chinese takeaway open for collection and delivery, with orders also placed through JustEat. The menu runs through familiar takeaway staples, with chow mein served with a good selection of vegetables, char sui fried rice, and salt n pepper prawns among the recurring choices. Ribs with rendered pork fat are also offered, and curry sauce alongside chips is a common combination diners order together. The Special Curry is worth noting for what it leaves out, as it does not come with prawn, chips, or boiled rice by default, so those need adding separately. The kitchen takes walk-in orders rather than reservations, and it opens evenings only, running Wednesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Delivery extends the menu to those eating off site.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers mostly return for the chow mein, praised for a good selection of vegetables, and several say the veg in their meals stays crisp and fresh. Close behind are the crispy chips and pork balls, a curry sauce that wasn't bland, char sui fried rice, and flavourful salt n pepper prawns. One reviewer also defends the rendered pork fat on the ribs as a delicacy. Several mention good portions, plenty of chicken, and food arriving hot, and a few say they have found a new regular takeaway or will order again. The criticism is specific. One reviewer found the special curry had no prawn and felt expensive without chips or boiled rice. A longtime customer reports a very long delivery wait and a cold duck, while the chicken was fine. Their phone complaint drew an apology from the person answering, but they say the owners said nothing.

“A long time customer because the food is fantastic but their delivery is horrendous and customer service does not exist. 2 hours for my food! It's been getting steadily worse but I ordered early and still took two hours. Also. The duck was cold. Chicken was fine. Rang to complain and the poor girl on the phone tried to apologise and the owners said naff all.”

“Excellent food, great service and very friendly staff! Can’t recommend this place enough! Ordered from here on Saturday night for the 2nd time and will definitely be returning, wouldn’t go anywhere else for a Chinese takeaway. 5⭐️”

“Takeaway food, have ordered twice from this place, first time we ordered for 4 people and tonight, just 1 meal. On both occasions the food has been absolutely delicious, 🤤 the quantities are good, food is still hot. What I particularly enjoy is that the veg in the meals is still crisp and fresh. Will definitely order my Chinese meals from this establishment in the future.”
