  “My Absolute Go-To Rockwater is easily my favourite spot! I’ve had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here, and the food has always been great. The Shacks are a massive highlight for me. It’s great that they are open early (weather permitting), as I love grabbing an early-morning coffee there and sitting on the deck. Their matchas are great too! It’s also become our post-game hangout with my padel crew! And a huge shout-out to Zoyzi, she always remembers exactly how we all take our drinks, which is such a rare, personal touch. 5/5 Stars 🌟”

  “What a wonderful time we had! Ate lunch up on the roof terrace. First time I've sat up there. What a treat- delicious food, beautiful view and lovely atmosphere. But, what made the experience stand out was the brilliant service from the waiter Gabriel. He was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. His brilliant service transformed our lunchtime. Hope the management know what a gem he is! Thanks Gabriel and all the Rockwater team.”

  “Went for a friend's 40th birthday lunch, had a lovely table inside, upstairs, prosecco on arrival for the birthday girl was a lovely touch! The small plates were delicious and good portions, although the potato salad was a bit bland. After we ate, we moved outside for drinks and we were accommodated really well. Golden sangria and rosé in the sunshine! Our waitress Jessica was super friendly, helpful, attentive and just lovely! We were well liked after which really made the day.”

  “I really enjoyed my meal here. The food was great and the service was very friendly. The atmosphere wasn’t ideal as we reserved a table in advanced but were unable to be seated on the rooftop. It looked almost entirely empty when we got there and did not fill up while we were there despite them saying there were no unreserved tables. There was no option to reserve the rooftop or any particular floor of the restraunt, so i’m not sure how others were allowed. But regardless, the food and service were excellent.”

  “This experience was honestly one of the best I have had in Brighton! Myself and my partner came here for dinner after the eclipse on our Brighton getaway, the food was amazing and so was the drinks ( get yourself the sangria 🫶) but it was made even better by our server Elodie. They were kind, considerate and nothing was ever too much hassle ! Thank you so much for making our evening :)”

  “I used to enjoy visiting Rockwater and have recommended it to friends many times. Unfortunately, my recent breakfast visit was extremely disappointing. I invited two guests from London and was genuinely embarrassed by the experience. The service was very slow, with coffees taking around 10–12 minutes to arrive, despite the venue being far from busy. I ordered smashed avocado on toast with two poached eggs. For £19, I expected something special. Instead, the avocado tasted like a basic supermarket product, the eggs were poorly poached and undercooked, and the bread was dry and difficult to eat. The coffee was average at best and nowhere near the quality offered by many nearby independent cafés. What was most shocking was the value for money. Breakfast for four came to almost £100 once tax and service charges were added. The food itself was around £74, but the additional charges significantly increased the bill. For the quality received, this felt completely unjustified. Rockwater has one of the best locations on the seafront, but location alone is not enough. There are many busy cafés and restaurants nearby offering better food, better coffee, better service, and better value. This review is not written out of malice. It is written because I genuinely think management needs to pay attention. The quality, pricing, and service no longer match the image the venue promotes. If these issues are not addressed, the increasing number of empty tables may become a much bigger problem.”

  “TEN TEN EXPERIENCE. Best venue to eat/ drink in Brighton on a sunny day. We sat on the roof terrace- stunning views. Izzy greeted us warmly and was a fantastic server throughout, really lovely energy. Felt like being in California in the best sense. Food was top dollar, highly recommend the Monkfish skewer, and the heritage beetroot with hummus/ hazelnuts. Not too heavy and nice to see seasonal ingredients. Deffo be back!”

  “Such a lovely place to have food and watch the sunset. The service was incredible, Izzy was friendly, gave good recommendations and always had a smile, service always adds to an experience and we’re glad Izzy served us. The food was really food other than some of the potatoes from the new potato salad not being completely cooked and hard inside. I would highly recommend and will certainly visit again”

  “Gorgeous seaside venue with an incredible vibe! The beautiful design makes it a brilliant place to relax and enjoy the view. The menu offers a great selection of very tasty dishes, but the drinks are a real standout. They serve very interesting barista items and superb cocktails, plus a genuinely thoughtful and creative alcohol-free selection. 🥂🎉”
