About Zinkyourlocalfoodvan
Cooking from a mobile food van, Zinkyourlocalfoodvan brings Caribbean and Jamaican food to High Wycombe, trading at the town market and at Risborough on Tuesday evenings from a base at Dashwood Works. Oxtail in butter bean sauce anchors the menu, alongside curry goat with rice and peas and jerk chicken, with fried dumplings, plantain and homemade coleslaw served on the side. Chips with sauce and wraps round out the shorter options. There are no tables and no reservations, so customers order at the van and eat off site, with takeaway also available through Uber Eats for those wanting food at home. The team takes separate catering bookings for events such as christenings and wakes, laying on a buffet spread that has included plain chips and macaroni cheese for children, salads and rum cake. Gluten free and dairy free requirements can be discussed at the van before ordering.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints centre on portions and value. One reviewer received curried goat that was mostly bones in oil with four small pieces of fatty meat, and another at the market found far too much rice against very little meat. An Uber Eats order of oxtail came bland, with no butter beans despite the listing, and the plantain was soggy. One diner closes by saying they would ask the team to cater again.

“We recently used Zink to cater for our daughter’s baptism, and we honestly couldn’t have been happier with the service from start to finish. We had already tried some of their food from their food van at Risborough on Tuesday evenings, so we knew the food would be delicious — but they completely exceeded our expectations on the day. Communication throughout the whole process was brilliant. They were incredibly organised, accommodating, and happy to work with the number of guests we were expecting. We had the buffet service and the spread itself was absolutely incredible, with such a great variety of food available. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Our guests genuinely couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the food was. We also had quite a few dietary requirements within our group, but nothing was too much trouble for them. They made sure everyone had plenty of options and were extremely accommodating throughout. There were also lots of toddlers and young children at the event, and they thoughtfully included dishes such as plain chips and macaroni cheese, which went down so well. Alongside this were loads of fresh salads and other dishes, making it the perfect mix for the occasion. Everything ran smoothly, which allowed us to relax and enjoy such a special day with our family and friends. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough and would happily use them again in the future.”

“If you’re looking for truly authentic Jamaican cuisine, Zink – your local food van – is an absolute must-try. I honestly can’t recommend Zink highly enough. My personal favourite has to be the curry goat with rice and peas, paired with their homemade coleslaw and dumplings. Every single bite is packed full of flavour – rich, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what you’d hope for from authentic Jamaican cooking. The portion sizes are generous, and the value for money is excellent. You really get a satisfying, high-quality meal every time. Whether I’ve ordered takeaway to enjoy at home or visited them at the markets for lunch, the experience has always been consistently outstanding. The service is just as impressive as the food – friendly, efficient, and welcoming every time. I’ve genuinely never been disappointed. In fact, I love Zink so much that I’ve now booked them for a catering event, and I can’t wait! If you’re considering trying them or booking them, don’t hesitate – you won’t regret it.”
