“Does The Ruby deserve 5 stars? Yes and a whole lot more if I could give them. I first visited the Ruby in 1980 when I was living in the area, sadly I moved away, but on my visits back I always make sure to come here. Now in 2026, that is 46 years since my first visit, the food is still of the same high standard, piping hot, with a lovely balance of flavours. Portion sizes are still of a good size, the prices are very reasonable and the menu is extensive. The management and staff still know how to look after their customers, the ambience and atmosphere are still perfect. The view out of the window overlooking the Clyde towards Greenock is still picturesque and beautiful. The Ruby is the truly the gem of this town. I can't wait for my next visit.”
