About Three's a Crowd
Three's a Crowd is a gastropub in Harrogate, at 11 W Park in the West Park district, and it opens daily. The kitchen serves British food, and on Sundays the roast comes as a sharer for the table, with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, veg and peas. Coeliac diners get dishes substituted rather than left off, so the roast stays on their plate too. The menu includes a pig cheek starter and guinea fowl, and the puddings carry a honeycomb crunch. A hand-picked wine list sits alongside the food.

Customer Review Summary
The roast dinner sharer draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out the gravy, crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and peas, and one calling it good value. Close behind are the small plates and starters, including the courgette curlys, Jersey royals with honey mustard sauce, pig cheek, guinea fowl and a PB and J dessert, plus a honeycomb crunch on the puddings. Servers are repeatedly described as friendly and knowledgeable, with one making menu recommendations and another handling a coeliac order by substituting dishes. Dogs are welcome, according to a couple of reviewers. The main caveat is cost against portion size. Several feel the lamb shoulder and the bavette skewers are small for their price, and one diner reports a nearly £50 bill for fries, two skewers and two drinks, along with a tuna dish that arrived in poor condition and seating rules that limit what can be ordered. One reviewer found the starters a tiny bit of a let down. Another reviewer was invited to sample a new dish the chef was photographing for the website.

“Had a delicious dinner there tonight, mostly a collection of small plates and appetizers. The courgette curlys were sooo good, and the honey mustard sauce on the Jersey royals was delicious. Loved the PB and J dessert as well. Our server, Meredith, was delightful and made us feel welcome and taken care of. Missed the Yorkshire puddings though, which sounded like they are only served on Sundays with the roast. Definitely have to come back someday for those to!”

“Came for a meal with friends the food was good if perhaps a little overpriced for the portion sizes however the service was great. Meredith was very good and entertained us throughout and gave us great reccomendations on the menu.”

“Dire. Thankfully it’s difficult to destroy a bottle of wine and a pint. The tuna arrived and it was rank. How the chef was able to send it out his kitchen. The bavette skewers were enough for two bites but at £10 each severely overpriced. The bill for a bowl of fries, two bavette skewers a glass of wine and a pint came to nearly £50! Not going back here ever again and the continuing slide in their review scores tells a story. This was one of the best places to go in Harrogate. Not to mention the rules - if sit here you can only order this but if you sit there then… you get the picture.”

“Roast dinner sharer was delicious - and good value! Gravy especially good😍. Starters were a tiny bit of a let down but all in all really good and lovely place. Thank you 🙂”

“It's a very nice gastropub. Enjoyed the pig cheek for starter, and the guinea fowl. The lamb shoulder portion could be a bit bigger for its price, though. Everything was prepared well, so can't complain, really 😄”
