  “First time visiting Shimlas in Halifax. We were served by Saby, who had a great personality and made the experience really easy. We tried the famous chicken donner, and it was genuinely lovely. Would happily visit again.”

  “Food was nice we got mixed meat sharer between 2 the guy on the counter was not helpful at all he said I had to pay extra for the nan bread I said it states on the menu it comes with a nan he said it changed a few months ago I told him we'll its on your menu right and it should be changed he said they was waiting fir new menus i said until you get them then you should be charging what is on your menus, he was having none of it so because I didn't want to make a seen I ended up paying over £3 for the nan. We will not be returning.”

  “I recently visited Shimla Halifax with my family and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing due to the poor customer service we received. We don't care she was boss or worker But The lady at the counter, who was wearing full jewelry while handling food, displayed behavior that appeared unprofessional and, in my opinion, did not reflect appropriate food hygiene standards. More importantly, she treated us in a very rude and disrespectful manner throughout our interaction. Regardless of whether she was having a difficult day, dealing with personal issues, or was in a managerial position, customers should not be subjected to unprofessional behavior. Personal problems should never affect the way customers are treated. If she is an employee, I believe additional customer service training would be beneficial to help maintain a professional and respectful attitude in the workplace. What was most disappointing was the manner in which our food was served. We felt as though we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than valued paying customers. Additionally, after we got up and left, we observed this lady engaging in gossip with another colleague. This behavior appeared completely unprofessional and further reinforced our concerns about the level of professionalism and customer service at the establishment. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these concerns to ensure future customers receive the level of service they deserve. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.”

  “Went from stoke on Trent on Friday Amazing food fresh salad chutney was on point see kebabs are very succulent and juicy fresh the mutton gai was absolutely flavoursome juicy very scrumptious the chicken donor well guys you can’t go wrong with that chicken wings were eloquent the Roti how I expected thin and crispy Staff was absolutely amazing the lady in the name of Sabie Was very helpful polite customer service was on the next level very impressed. Highly recommend to anybody definitely will go back to Halifax for that particular restaurant and enjoy the meal.”

  “I won’t be returning to the Halifax branch of Shimlas after what I witnessed. The staff behind the counter were completely unprofessional and disengaged. Several employees were standing around on their phones, chatting, and not paying attention to customers. At one point a man wearing a North Face jacket was walking around the kitchen area talking on his phone, which didn’t exactly inspire confidence in hygiene or management. What was even worse was seeing a freshly wrapped chicken dinner carried upstairs across the shop floor while RAW chicken juice was visibly dripping and spilling across the front of the shop. Someone half-heartedly mopped it afterwards but didn’t even wash their hands before going back to serving. When our food finally arrived, the chicken doner was undercooked and extremely gristly — completely inedible. We were then told it was the last of what they had and that we’d need to wait another 30 minutes for more. This wasn’t communicated when we originally ordered. Overall it was a really poor experience — unprofessional staff, questionable hygiene, and food that couldn’t even be eaten. We won’t be coming back”

  “We had Tandoori Tikka leg and Tandoori Roti. It comes with garlic mayo, sweet chilli dip and some salad. The meat was well cooked and freshly prepared. Everything was delicious and we were happy with the service.”

  “I recently visited Shimlas and ordered the butter chicken, and it was a very disappointing experience. The dish tasted horrible – the chicken itself didn’t feel fresh and had an unpleasant taste. I’ve had butter chicken many times before in Bradford and Leeds, so I know what to expect, but this was nowhere near the standard. When I raised my concern with the staff, they were not at all helpful and simply told me, “that’s how it is.” This left me feeling ignored rather than valued as a customer. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a birthday lunch turned into a bitter experience. Waste of food and money.. Wouldn’t recommend based on this visit.”

  “Absolutely fantastic. Welcoming environment - yes most come for takeaway but eating in is so comfortable. The curries are superb. We had a mixed starter then meat biryani, chicken tikka masala and a garlic naan - all so, so good, at least on a par with a top level Indian restaurant. Staff very attentive and efficient. Excellent quality all round.”

  “Awesome food in the town! I thoroughly enjoyed Chicken Tikka Doner 🙂 Chicken was so fresh and marinated so well. The sauces & Naan accompanied were finger licking good! The whole meal was full of flavours & a treat to my taste buds. I ordered Virgin Mojito which was for sure the best ! Albeit all the good things, I was very glad to see reasonable prices on the menu...! I recommend Shimla to everyone who wants some great food.....”
