Quick info
About The Old Clubhouse
The Old Clubhouse is a restaurant and bar on E Links Rd in Gullane, housed in the original clubhouse there. Views run out over the golf course, and interesting items fill the walls all around the bar and dining area. The menu changes regularly, so the dishes on offer vary over time, and fish and chips is among them. Food orders are taken by a server at the table rather than at the counter. Dogs are welcome, and the bar is often busy with them.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, singling out fish and chips that one visitor called beautifully cooked, along with Cullen skink, a goats cheese salad, Frito misto, a steak and a fantastic vegetarian dish. One returning guest still remembers the nachos and beer, and another notes the menu changes enough to stay fresh. Close behind is the lively bar, which reviewers describe as not too noisy, and the welcoming feel of the original Gullane clubhouse, with views over the golf course and interesting bits on the walls to read. Several mention friendly staff, and a few call the pub very dog friendly. Service draws the main complaint. One diner says only one person was taking food orders and nobody explained the long wait, so they went to pay and leave before the order was taken. Another says the servers lost interest after the mains, delaying dessert, and found the padron peppers cold and the cranachan semi freddo frozen solid. One couple finished their evening with a courtesy ride home.

“This was our first time visiting Gullane, and we found this pub with views out over the golf course. The menu had a great selection of meals, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had fish & chips, which was beautifully cooked. We plan to return to East Lothian in the future, so we will be sure to have lunch in The Old Clubhouse.”

“Great place nice and central for food and drink. Lively atmosphere and a good selection at the bar. Has some quite interesting bits up on the wall all the round the bar & restaurant your never short of something to read or look at.”

“Really nice food (Cullen skink, goats cheese salad, Frito misto)- except padron peppers served cold. Cranachan semi freddo would have been better if semi rather than frozen solid. After serving our mains the servers lost interest, resulting in a long delay before we could have dessert.”
