About Sicool Food Sicilian Café & Bar
Sicool Food Sicilian Café & Bar is a coffee shop and cafe at 1 The Shambles in Guildford, reached down a small alley off the High Street. The kitchen serves Sicilian specialities, including arancini, cannoli and a Sicilian sausage roll, and the coffee is Illy. Tables sit in a covered courtyard at the end of the alley, so the cafe works as a sit-down stop away from the main street. Heaters and blankets are on hand for chilly days. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the Illy coffee, with the Sicilian sausage roll named as one reviewer's recommendation, alongside pistachio and mango gelato and a warm chocolate brownie. Friendly staff and covered outdoor seating with heaters and blankets come up repeatedly. Two reviewers were let down: one found the cannoli dry and bland with a stoic welcome, another called the arancini dry and the milkshake like sugared water.

“This is our regular Saturday treat. We love it so much, the drinks are excellent. My husband tells me the lunch food is fantastic, I'm gluten free so not so much to choose from, but there's choc brownie, warm and divine, or cheesecake, and sometimes melanzane parmigiana which is literally the best I've ever ever tasted, absolutely delicious! The staff are warm and friendly. Most of the seating is outside but under cover. If it's a chilly day there are heaters and blankets. Wonderful little piece of Italy. Xx”

“I love food, I hate food waste. Even if I hate food if I get it I want to finish it. I couldn’t stomach finishing the food here. I am extremely disappointed, the arancini was dry, and was horrible, it activated my gag reflex and I had to fight to hold in the bite I had. The peach cheesecake was really cheap and artificial tasting. the milkshake tasted like sugared water and the sausage roll, the peak of the meal, was worse than a cheap mass produced one at a grab and go bakery. Would not recommend, highly disappointed, and one of the worst meals I have had in years. The only reason it is not 1 star is that the decor and atmosphere is good.”

“Great little cafe tucked down an alley, away from the High Street. Great choice of coffee and baked goods. Fantastic service too.”
