About Quayside Plaza
Quayside Plaza is an independent, family-run European restaurant at 9 S Quay in Great Yarmouth. The menu draws on Portuguese, Mediterranean and European cooking, and the kitchen makes dishes fresh to order. Most of the menu is gluten free, which gives guests avoiding gluten plenty to choose from. Mains include Sirloin Steak dishes, a Vegan Beetburger and a Mediterranean fish pie, with seafood dishes alongside. The large menu also carries vegetarian options, such as mushroom pasta and salads. Meals can begin with bread and olives or garlic butter. The restaurant opens Wednesday to Saturday, daytime only, and closes Sunday through Tuesday. Cakes and desserts are made in house.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the bread and olives that open the meal, with one calling them some of the best olives in a long time and another pairing them with garlic butter. Close behind are the seafood dishes and the Mediterranean fish pie, while the mushroom pasta, chicken with mash, desserts and coffees also earn praise. Reviewers describe the food as excellent and outstanding, the staff as friendly and helpful, and the room as welcoming, with one likening it to stepping into another country. Service is called fast, and one family who arrived without a booking says the front desk got them seated. The one critical account comes from a group of ten whose booking promised the table until 8pm. After taking a dessert order, staff told them the table was needed back, and the waitress then declined to split the bill, citing poor mobile reception. That reviewer still called the food excellent. Others describe celebrations here, including a wedding lunch and a leaving party, with the wedding party finding the total less expensive than expected.

“We lunched as a foursome to celebrate a wedding. The food was great (and much less expensive in total than I had expected) and the waiting was fine. Definitely a place to go.”

“I was invited to a leaving party at this restaurant, and it was my first time visiting. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The evening was made even more special by the wonderful company, excellent food, and warm atmosphere. The service was outstanding throughout the night. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly, making us feel very welcome. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and prepared to a very high standard. This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations and left a lasting impression. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a great dining experience, this is a place that should not be missed. I will certainly be returning and would highly recommend it to others.”

“Simply stunning,Been on my to visit list for years and finally did. Great location on Quay area with good free parking for our 5pm reservation. Met by friendly staff in a beautiful restaurant. Viewed the many choices on menu and all food and drink arrived in good time even with restaurant fairly busy. The food was superb, beautifully presented and tasted simply stunning. Only had starter and main course and couldn't manage a dessert maybe next time. Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough and would definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed.”

“Had a fantastic meal. We were offered bread and olives to start with and they were some of the best olives I've had in a long time. I had the Mediterranean fish pie which was gorgeous and my husband chicken with mash which he had was also lovely. Service was spot on and we look forward to visiting again when we are next in Norfolk.”
