About Portivo Lounge

An old warehouse building beside the Gloucester Quays docks houses Portivo Lounge, a British restaurant and bar at the Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet. Dogs are welcome inside on the hard wooden floors, so walkers along the docks can settle in with the rest of the table. Breakfast anchors the menu, with the Lounge Breakfast and Veggie Breakfast in standard and larger sizes, plus breakfast muffins filled with streaky bacon or Cumberland sausage. Brunch plates run to poached eggs, including a version on avocado and sourdough, and tapas arrive in small bowls meant to be ordered several at a time and shared between two. The kitchen also cooks to gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan needs across a list of roughly 281 dishes. Coffees and soft drinks sit alongside the bar's drinks. Orders go in at the bar or through the restaurant's app, which asks you to register first, and a queue can build there, with daytimes quieter than evenings. It opens daily.

Customer Review Summary

The tapas bowls draw the most repeat praise, with one pair sharing three between them and singling out the Thai fish cakes, cauliflower wings and prawns as all worth ordering again. Close behind are the brunches, described as fantastic and filling, alongside avocado and poached egg on sourdough, bang bang noodles, Nasi Goreng and shakshuka, plus hot coffees and a pink lemonade one reviewer urges others to try. Several describe fast, error free service even with every table occupied, and note the old warehouse setting and relaxed feel, quiet by day and busier in the evening. One reviewer ordered through the app after registering on the Wi-Fi, finding a queue at the bar instead. The clearest complaint comes from a diner who sent back bacon three times without getting it well done and left the overdone poached eggs. Dog owners return most warmly, one recalling a member of bar staff laying down his own hoodie so their blind dog could settle on the wooden floor.

“Had a great little lunch with my friend, we had 3 tapas bowls which was enough for both of us to share. We had Thai fish cakes, cauliflower wings and prawns... All very delicious and would have again 😁”
  • ELM
“Lovely avacado, poached egg on sourdough. Great prompt service and clear-away, especially so as every table was occupied, the staff kept on top of everything. Also had a couple of nice hot coffees too.”
  • Emily Price (ELP Guttering Services)
“Unfortunately the chef doesn’t know how to cook well done bacon. And after the 3rd attempt this was the best it got. So I ended up just eating the muffin and the very over done poached eggs.”

“Amazing food, like always, but what really stood out was the customer service! We brought in my blind, Disabled dog, as it’s amazingly pet friendly, but unfortunately we forgot his blanket for him to sit on, so he wouldn’t settle and we realised we were going to have to leave because he doesn’t like the hard wooden floor. However one of the guys at the bar (my boyfriend thinks his name was Jason or Jace, he didn’t 100% hear) put his freshly washed hoodie on the floor so my dog would have somewhere to lie down and we could stay. Amazing customer service, and so sweet, would 100% recommend this place! It’s perfect for your dogs and the staff clearly care 🤍”
  • Zac Burns
“This really is the place for good food and a nice drink while in the quays. Normally quiet in the day but busy in the evenings. I would say this is the place to go to in the quays if you’re looking for a nice drink and/or nice pub grub.”
