About MazalaDosa Gloucester
MazalaDosa Gloucester is a South Indian restaurant at Unit 13 in Gloucester, spread over two floors with around eight tables on each. The menu mixes Indian street food with South Indian dishes, among them masala dosa and sambar idly, and Chicken 65 sits alongside them. Curries and biryanis are on offer too, and chutneys and sauces come with the food. The kitchen is small, and the chefs work from traditional recipes. Dogs are welcome, so guests can bring a pet along when they eat. A separate area is set aside for Muslim guests, and alcohol is served for those who want a drink with the meal. A parking lot sits close by, near the docks.

Customer Review Summary
Dosas anchor the praise, with one diner recommending the Kail Masala Dosa and another calling the dosas the restaurant's all-star dish. Close behind are the Chicken 65, described as full of flavour and well balanced, and the gobi manchurian and samosa chaat, which one diner named as favourites. Others point to a sambar idly and veg utthapam, with the sambar hitting the spot, and to the chutneys and sauces. The food is described as quick, fresh and delicious, and reviewers repeatedly call the staff friendly, with servers happy to explain unfamiliar dishes and one checking that the food was up to standard. One reviewer suggests ordering a few dishes to share, like Indian tapas. The criticisms are modest. One reviewer found the quantity a bit less for the price, though the quality was there, and two describe a small, crowded room, with about eight tables on each of two floors. One party ended up taking home what they could not finish.

“I was so happy eating this food. Really delicious. We popped in as we were on holiday near Gloucester and we love South Indian food. This did not disappoint. We had a delicious sambar idly and veg utthapam. The sambar really hit the spot!”

“Absolutely loved the experience! ❤️ The food was amazing, the vibe was wonderful, and the place had such a warm, homely feel. Everything was made even more special by the incredible hospitality of Zainab and Chef Vishnu, who made us feel so welcome and well looked after. It’s rare to find a place where the food, ambience, and hospitality come together so beautifully. Highly recommended! Definitely a place we’d love to visit again. 🌟”

“First time here. Service & customer service was great. Decor & atmosphere was great too. Menu is good with a variety of Indian street food. Would recommend ordering few bits like an Indian tapas to share as there is so much to try! Food was delicious. Would recommend visiting if you haven’t already!”

“Amazing food and service! Food was quick, fresh, and delicious. Very impressive to see the dishes coming out of what appears to be a small kitchen. Our favorites were the gobi manchurian and somosa chaat but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. No complaints whatsoever and we will definitely be back.”
