About Ruby Murry's Takeaway
Ruby Murry's Takeaway serves Glasgow from 1153 Tollcross Rd, open daily in the evenings only. The menu spans curries, pizzas, calzone, kebabs and wraps, so a single order can mix styles. Chicken tikka masala is offered in a low-fat version as well as the standard one, and curries also come as curry boxes. The chicken tikka kebab is served in pitta bread with salad and sauce. The chicken dinger wrap comes with peri fries as part of a meal deal. Orders are taken over the phone or at the counter in the shop.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken tikka is the draw reviewers return to most, whether as a low fat chicken tikka masala with a filling portion, a tikka meal with a generous serving of sauce on the side, or the curry boxes one reviewer calls supreme. Close behind are the chicken dinger wrap with peri fries, the pizzas, and a calzone one diner rates the best they have ever had. One phone order brought suggestions of a chicken poori and a peshwari nan, both praised as sides. Staff are described as friendly, and several reviewers call the food great year after year. The criticism covers both food and conduct. One reviewer found the South Indian Garlic Chilli a bland, watery red sauce, the chicken bhunna flat, and the chicken pakora small and overcooked. Two reviewers describe the manager shouting at staff in front of a shop full of customers. Kebabs draw complaints as well: one did not fill the pitta bread, and a chicken tikka kebab order arrived without the separate salad that was requested, so the diner ate it plain.

“Ordered over the phone and the lady was really helpful and made a couple of suggestions that were delicious ! The chicken poori was lovely and the peshwari nan also great as sides ! The tikka meal was very nice and a generous serving of sauce on the side. Enough for two people to share and will definitely go back”

“The food in rubys is great it’s the go to place in the east end however - I never normally write reviews or comment on stuff online but the way the boss (George as I heard someone call him) spoke to his staff was actually sickening tonight my blood was boiling whilst waiting on my food. Shouting get that brush away, do this, do that, his manner and attitude was shocking. His staff are lovely and he should think himself bloody lucky. I don’t know how the girls held their tounge and didn’t ask him who the f he thought he was talking too. I’m pretty sure If life wasn’t hard enough they girls would have walked out that door. And in front of customers - humiliating! And not one f given! Didn’t even care enough to at least put a face on in front of customers!! It’s bothered me all night!”
