Customer Review Summary
Sushi draws the most praise, led by salmon. Reviewers call the salmon nigiri some of the nicest in Glasgow and the salmon sashimi very fresh, while a maki set mixing fish and chicken is described as a good way to try several things. Close behind are the chicken dishes, including chicken karage, fried chicken and salt and chilli chicken, along with big portions of kimchi cheesy fries and a chicken ramen whose broth one diner calls outstanding. One reviewer wanted the prawn tempura batter crispier. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly. The complaints are about order handling. One collection arrived as half the order plus another customer's, with no explanation from staff and a further wait for the sushi to be remade, offset only by a free drink. Another diner paid for drinks that never arrived and urges others to double check. A third says extra drinks are cash only after paying, so suggests ordering enough beforehand. Still, when salmon maki went missing from a delivery, it came back with a Japanese sweet as an apology.

“Awesome only down side is order enough drinks before your meal as its cash only after you pay. Had to go to news agents for an extra can of irn bru as I dont use cash. Ammendment to rule maybe due for existing customers mid meal.”

“Great tasting food and very reasonable priced. Have had this multiple times and every time has been delicious. Great service too, salmon Maki was missed from our delivery and once I phoned, the maki was re-delivered with a Japanese sweet to apologise. Would recommend.”

“Collected an order today, went at the correct pick up time. I was given half my order and someone else’s order, the staff member realised and took back the other persons order. They left me standing there with no clue what was going on. I overheard staff talking about my other half of the order stating someone they knew had maybe taken the order, no staff member bothered to inform me that half my order was missing or what was happening, I only knew this from hearing the conversation from the kitchen. I was offered a drink as compensation and waited another 15 minutes for them to remake my sushi. Disappointing as Okome is usually a nice place but this experience has definitely put me off. Clarkston and Byres Road are much better options.”

“I do think this place is a little bit overpriced but I can't complain about the quality. I got a salmon nigiri and it was some of the nicest I've had in Glasgow. Worth it I guess. The staff are always really nice too.”
