About The Railway Tavern
The Railway Tavern is a pub on Shettleston Rd in Glasgow, open daily on a walk-in basis. The entrance is step-free, giving easier access for visitors with mobility needs, and outdoor seating is available for those who prefer to sit outside. The bar runs on cash only, with no card machine or WIFI on site, and table service is handled at the bar by the staff. The week's schedule includes karaoke on Sunday and again on Tuesday afternoon, with a quiz night on Wednesday. Football screenings draw a crowd, though the room tends to be quieter on other weekday visits.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday night karaoke is the main draw at this Shettleston local, described as always jumping and like walking into an old fashioned Glasgow party. Reviewers also mention a Tuesday late afternoon karaoke, a Wednesday quiz, and a busy Friday afternoon, while one says the place can be pretty quiet during the week unless the football is on. Close behind is the old style pub feel: reviewers call it a good old Scottish pub and an old man's kinda pub, with cheap beers and prices, and a singer whose volume lets people chat without shouting. Bar staff earn steady praise as welcoming and friendly, and one reviewer says first timers and groups are always welcome. The one caveat comes from a reviewer who warns that there is no card machine or WIFI, so cash is needed, and says anyone after something modern will not find it here. One reviewer, who had driven past in a truck many times, says they will be back when next in the area.

“This place is amazing as an old style local pub. Jane and Maggie are both wonderful to chat with, and the atmosphere is great too. If you're looking for something modern and all that nonsense, then you won't find it here, but if you want homely and welcoming with a great friendly atmosphere, then this is your place. I've passed here loads of times in my truck and never gave it a second thought, but I'm so glad I visited this evening. Will definitely be back here when I'm next in the area. Oh, and make sure you bring cash, no card machine or WIFI in sight, but I'm OK with that. This place is what proper pubs used to be, thanks ladies xx”
