About Glencairn Venue

Glencairn Venue is a bar and events space on Glasgow Road in Glasgow, built around function packages that cover the premises, a DJ and a hot and cold buffet. Tables are set around a dance floor and arranged to the size of the party, a format used for engagement parties, milestone birthdays, wakes and annual Christmas parties. Buffet nibbles have included spring rolls and mac and cheese, and main meals are served alongside them during events. Tennent's lager is poured at the bar, and staff bring drinks to the tables through the night. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance lets guests with mobility needs come and go without stairs, while outdoor seating gives parties somewhere to sit outside. The doors open daily, and reservations are recommended. Parking sits outside the venue, covered by security cameras.

Customer Review Summary

Staff draw the most praise across these reviews, described as friendly, helpful and quick with drinks, with several noting that nothing seemed to be a problem when their event was on. Close behind is the buffet, singled out for a mixed spread of spring rolls, mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese, onion rings, curry sauce and rice, while one guest at a wake called the main meals delicious. Also mentioned are cheap drinks including Tennent's and Sourz shots, a DJ, a good sized dance floor and parking with security cameras. Several describe using the venue for engagement parties, birthdays, a 21st and family funerals, and one notes the plain street frontage belies a nicer interior. The recurring gripes are small: that same wake reviewer found the last menu items missing and six seats squeezed onto a table meant for four, and one suggests a heavy coat for the covered smoking area in colder months.

“Love this venue if you want a good night this is the place to be. Entertainment is exceptional caters for all events from football , Birthdays Engagements physic nights communions etc. Food served regularly 😋 staff are on the ball in serving drinks and are very pleasant. They also provide a smoking area so you don't have to go outside but I would suggest in the colder months bring heavy coat as it can be cold. The glencairn also provides parking with security cameras. I would give this venue 10/10 and recommend to my family & friends 100% satisfied.”

“Came here for an engagement party and was pleasantly surprised with the interior. From street view you wonder what you are signing yourself up for but it's genuinely a very nice venue with friendly staff (goes to show, don't judge a book). Drinks are cheap with tennants being around the £4 mark, and they do cheap shots of sourz (I am sure I seen on the bar). The buffet was good, it was a bit of a wild mix of nibbles, including spring rolls, mozzarella sticks, curry sauce, rice, Mac and cheese, and onion rings. Think there was more but I was pretty well on by this point and can't for the life of me remember what was all included.”
  • Mary Hunter
“We were there for a wake. The food was good they missed the last items on the menu. The main meals were absolutely delicious. The tables could have been spaced out better instead of being squashed 6 seat at a table ment for 4.”
