Quick info
About The Greenhouse Cafe
The Greenhouse Cafe is an entirely plant-based cafe at 5 Orwell Rd in Felixstowe, so every dish on the menu is vegan. Focaccia sandwiches and a salad bar anchor the food, with homemade kombucha and lemonade to drink. A seasonal menu and a specials board change what is on offer, and the kitchen also makes a vegan quiche with mushrooms, roasted garlic and caramelised onions. The room is small, with around five small tables, and the cafe works on a walk-in basis. Food is cooked fresh to order, so there is a wait. A Sunday roast is also on the menu.

Customer Review Summary
The vegan quiche draws the most mentions, with one diner describing a creamy version of mushrooms, roasted garlic and caramelised onions and another already waiting for it to return. Close behind are a butternut and squeak toastie described as packed with flavour, the no sauss roll and posh toast, and a Sunday roast that left a table full. Cake, scones and cookie dough also earn praise, as does an oat milk latte with grated nutmeg. Reviewers call the staff friendly, the atmosphere cosy and homely, and the prices reasonable. The trade-off is space and pace. With only a handful of small tables, one regular says the cafe is nearly always busy and walk-ins are harder, and two reviewers suggest booking. Another notes that everything is cooked fresh to order, so meals involve a wait. One reviewer says the staff squeezed in an event catering order despite being busy, and the guests received it well.

“The cafe has limited seating but I think it makes the atmosphere calmer and more relaxed. If you can't get a seat, they offer takeaway good and drink, which can be enjoyed on the beach if the weather permits. The service is always friendly and I've enjoyed every visit I've made. I like that the menu is seasonal. I always enjoy the scones and the cookie dough.”

“Love it here at the Greenhouse Cafe, always so kind and warming inside. The food Alice makes is super, super yummy! They've helped me with catering for an event as well, which was great and well received by the guests. They squeezed me in even though they were already so busy. The quiche is amazing, I can't wait until its back! We've also been for a roast one Sunday, that was a really yummy meal and we were all full.”

“More of the same... Difficult to improve on perfection. 😁 What a lovely cafe, first time we have see this place open and what a treat. Not a vegan however with food and drinks like this I could soon change over. Went for the no sauss roll and posh toast, just so good and the coffee just so different yes it was a latte with oat milk with nutmeg grated on the top. Tasting is believing this place is really so good. The service was also very good not rushed and the whole cafe collecctecly furnished was just so nice. Needless to say we will be back to tryout the other specials as soon as we can. This is only a very small Venus with some 5 small tables so you will need to be patient or book. 😁 Now a regular place to visit we just love this place and continued changing menus and specials board never stuck for choice. Only problem now and in a good way is the ever growing popularity and our option to walk in off the street as it is Nealy always so busy. But still the best😊”
