About Wild Strawberry Cafe

Wild Strawberry Cafe occupies a historic building on Market Hill in the old part of Woodbridge. The cafe runs as a walk-in spot, with seating on the pavement outside when weather allows and more tables inside the wood-lined rooms. Coffee is the common order, and a counter display of cakes, including a cherry cake, sits near the till. The kitchen works from a menu that changes regularly, offering a short sandwich selection at lunch, such as a steak sandwich, alongside other light dishes, and switches to breakfast service before roughly 11:50am. The room fills the front of the building and opens straight onto Market Hill, drawing a mix of regulars and passing trade.

Customer Review Summary

The criticism is real and specific. One diner found the English breakfast lukewarm with raw mushrooms and tomatoes, and another called the cherry cake a corner piece so hard it jumped off the plate. A reviewer says breakfast orders, including poached eggs and eggs benedict, were refused shortly before midday because eggs had moved to the lunch menu. Another says staff made a sarcastic comment about tipping after a two-hour visit, and one found the food mediocre for the prices.

“We have eaten here on several occasions, on our previous visit they had a specials menu which was very nice. Unfortunately when we visited on Monday this was no longer the case. The menu appears to have reduced with not a great choice of sandwich options and if you get there after 11.50 you can't have anything off the breakfast menu. I asked if they could do me poached eggs on toast (around 11.55am and they had accepted another customers order for a breakfast a few mins earlier) to be told they couldn't do eggs as they were now on the lunch menu so would be preparing for that of which there was a steak sandwich. Whilst we were drinking our coffee another customer came in and wanted eggs benedict of which was again told no eggs. In total this was 2 x orders from us and 4 x orders from the other customer that they lost and whilst we were there no one asked for a steak sandwich. Coffee is very good but we won't be eating there again as they are not very accommodating.”

“I popped in Monday morning just chilling . Nice atmosphere .làte warm enough .but the cherry cake was awful a corner piece so hard it jumped off my plate while trying to break a piece off with the fork. I felt it was no use complaining as tge middle aged woman had given it me And picked the piece tge nicer pieces of cake were on display. Ms N Sykes”

“Cute vibe, but worst English breakfast I've had in woodbridge. It came out lukewarm. Mushrooms and tomatoes were raw.”

“Lovely food, well thought out, tasty and balanced food for veggies. Generous proportions, lovely coffee, very pleasant service in a historic environment. Would recommend.”

“Been here twice in the last 2 weeks. Lovely spot in the old part of Woodbridge with seating outsidecif you want it. Friendly team. The cinnamon swirl was really delicious. My husband said his sausage roll was excellent and the coffee was one of the best he's had.”
