About New Diamond Carry Out
New Diamond Carry Out is a Chinese takeaway in Falkirk, at 12 Melville St. The shop is walk-in only, so orders are placed in person, and payment is cash only, which means customers need cash in hand before they arrive. The menu includes chicken fried rice and Singapore noodles, with salt chilli chips as a side order. Because the place is busy, food is not ready quickly, so a wait is usual for orders.

Customer Review Summary
Curry sauce is the most frequent draw, with one reviewer calling it the best and another praising the extra spicy version, though a third found it too thick. Chicken fried rice earns praise too, especially with a little gravy over the chicken, and a spring roll is called creamy and tasty. Several describe consistent orders, with delivery arriving early or on time and the food hot, and one notes a friendly driver. The complaints are specific and recur. Prawn crackers are repeatedly missing from orders, and another reviewer found their noodles missing after driving home. Food quality draws sharper criticism from a few. Chicken chow mein is described as slimy and cold, salt chilli chips as chewy and cardboard-like, and Singapore noodles as greasy with hardly any meat. One long-time customer also describes rude delivery drivers. Offers to send missing items out later fall flat, since reviewers say the rest of the meal would be cold by then, and one cancelled the order instead.

“Great value for money, the food is good and consistant in quality. Its a busy place so dont expect your food to be ready quickly. Its worth the wait. Its also cash only so make sure youve been to the bank”

“Two stars is generous. This has to be tbe worst chicken chow mein Ive ever had and salt chilli chips, wow,how can a place never get chips right! The chow mein was so slimy with noodles and a bit of onion coated in thick slimy grease, the chicken looked like frozen pieces thrown into a wok with the slimy noodles. No sign of any other vegetables in the noodles. It was COLD! Then the chips, wow, just vile! Cardboard chewy and brown with overcooked or precooked then cooked again in dirty oil! What a waste of £18.40!”

“Most of the time food is good. Staff friendly but now on quite a few occasions the prawn crackers are missing and it’s ok saying we’ll get them sent out but people want them with their meal when it’s hot. It should be simple enough when it’s on the receipt.”

“Yuk! Only went in as I was up in Falkirk, stinking would be an understatement. Try cooking the chips, curry sauce was poor, too thick. Next time I'm in Falkirk I will give this place a wide berth.🤢”
