Customer Review Summary

Steak dominates the conversation at Harry's, with reviewers repeatedly praising ribeye, sirloin, T-bone and lamb rump, though several note doneness runs inconsistent, arriving rarer than requested or needing more time to rest. Close behind, the arancini and calamari draw consistent praise as starters, alongside standouts like the prawn cocktail, cheese souffle, and Brixham crab on toast. Desserts also earn mentions, from the Eton mess to the skillet cookie and a birthday brownie given free of charge. A few flag seasoning as underdeveloped, one calling it lacking "across all dishes," and another finding a burger dry with an overcooked bun, while a linguine was said to need fresher pasta. One reviewer using a mobility scooter found staff accommodating but noted the entrance step and absence of a doorbell system could leave a solo disabled diner stranded outside unnoticed. Service is repeatedly called attentive and friendly, with staff remembered by name for going out of their way, and diners describe generous portions, doggy-bagged leftovers, and complimentary treats marking celebrations.

“First visit to this restaurant and I was so impressed! Everything about this place is great! Service, food, decor, cleanliness basically everything! I just wish there were people in the restaurant when I visited to create a better atmosphere but I am nit picking because you cant do anything about that! I will coming again and again and again. Great place”
  • Jake Zappas
“This is a remarkable restaurant. We had prawn and crab dishes as staters, followed by lobster and Tomahawk steak. I cannot fault the food or service, it was so lovely. Very reasonably priced, considering the quality and portion sizes. Compared to a certain Gordon Ramsey's restaurant in London that holds a Michelin star, this was way better. Lovely and friendly service. Thank you for such a fantastic night xx”

“We have been looking forward to go to Harry's for a little while and it certainly didn't disappoint. The food was fabulous and the service was amazing. All the staff were both professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended and we will definitely be going back.”

“We visited Harry’s in Exeter for lunch on Saturday and had the most incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was superb - everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely smiley, which made us feel so well looked after. The food was absolutely breathtaking. I had the soufflé, and it was honestly the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband enjoyed the calamari and the lobster roll, which he described as absolutely to die for! Even the drinks were delicious! It’s rare to find somewhere that gets everything so right, but Harry’s truly impressed us. It was the best food we’ve had in a long time, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!”

“Everything was perfect until I got home! Had bits of calamari and the Crab Linguine. I am not intolerant to either but I’ve definitely got food poisoning. So sad as I throughly enjoyed the ambience, decor and range of food on offer.”
