Quick info
About Meze Meze Edinburgh
Meze Meze Edinburgh is a Mediterranean restaurant on Rose St, drawing on Greek, Lebanese, Turkish and Middle Eastern dishes across its menu. Falafel and meat and fish plates make up the core offerings, alongside breakfast options, and calamari comes up often among orders. Turkish coffee is served to close out the meal, with waiters taking orders at the table. A private dining room sits apart from the main seating for groups wanting their own space. Outdoor tables, some under umbrellas, extend the seating outside, and high chairs are available for families dining with young children. The menu also runs to gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. The restaurant opens daily, and reservations are recommended.

Customer Review Summary
The calamari draws the most praise, with reviewers repeatedly singling it out as the highlight of the meal, one calling it unbelievable and another the star of the show. Close behind, diners point to the babaganoush, chicken tajin, hummus, and a mixed order of pea soup, dolmadakies, sujuk and falafel, most describing the food as fresh and full of flavour, with a Turkish coffee also getting a mention as a satisfying finish. Several note friendly, prompt staff and reasonable prices, with outdoor seating on Rose Street appreciated on a quiet Sunday morning. Against this, at least one visitor reports the opposite experience, describing the food as not tasty, the plates dirty with staff hesitant to replace them, and the meal a little overpriced despite fast service and a good location. Multiple reviewers say they returned on repeat visits or planned to come back on a future trip home.

“Stopped in for a quick bite after exploring the Royal Mile. Sat outside - umbrellas provided welcome shade. Service was efficient - friendly enough for a tourist spot. Food was excellent though. Enjoyed very tasty babaganoush (flavourful, light texture, nicely garnished with pomegranate) and surprisingly good chicken tajin. Rich, hearty, and a generous servings. Glad we stopped!”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
