  “We stayed opposite in the Travelodge and didnt want the usual Travelodge breakfast and popped in for an amazing breakfast. I love eggs benedicts, and EM's has just gone top of my list, we also went back the next day for more. As for some of the reviews saying the food is bland and tasteless, a load of rubbish, and I really dont know what some people expect from a little local cafe, its not the Ritz ! nor Ritz prices. Everything was perfect for us and im 58 years old and eaten alot of breakfasts ! Thank you for 2 lovely breakfast's ❤️”

  “I left this breakfast spot feeling pretty underwhelmed, especially given all of the hype surrounding it. The food quality was disappointing, and the flavors simply weren’t anything special. One of our requests was to have the fruit omitted from a French toast order, but that was ignored when the dish arrived. What stood out even more was the lack of service after our food was delivered. No one checked back on our table, and when we needed our check, we had to walk to the front of the restaurant to find someone. At that point, the server, cook, and front counter staff were all outside smoking. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. Between the mediocre food, ignored request, and lack of attentiveness, it’s not a place I’d be eager to return to.”

  “Came here for a nice brunch to set us up for the day. Was greeted by friendly staff and a really lovely atmosphere. We were served very quickly and drinks brought out almost instantly after we ordered. The food arrived, we order the ‘Sweet and Savoury’. The lovely waitress let us swap out the things we didn’t want in place of additional other items, we didn’t even have to ask she offered us additional items. The food came very quickly and was cooked to perfection! Strongly recommend the hash browns Couldn’t fault this place and everything is reasonably priced for the area”

  “Friend found this place on TikTok so we came to try. The full breakfast with pancake is not the best, everything lacks flavour a bit, like the maple syrup is very watered down and the scramble eggs are tasteless. The pancakes are really dry too. The egg Benedict is average, portions is slightly small on this one, the sting looks decent though. The burger was really mid according to friend, it did come with loads of fries though. The atmosphere is decent and it’s quite quiet for brunch in the weekend. Maybe other dishes are better.”

  “The service was amazing! The waitress was so helpful and lovely, honestly couldn’t have been any kinder! The food was 10/10 so good! And they’re so accommodating. We asked for no pork on one of the Sweat and Savory breakfasts and they had no problems, definitely worth going to!!🩷”

  “Lovely experience! I came at around 12 and they sadly didn't have the pancakes anymore, but offered to make me biscoff and banana french toast instead. Staff was very nice, and the cappuccino was very good :)”

  “Loved the food, atmosphere was amazing and best of all, the customer service was amazing. Natalie was wonderful, beyond great and always checking in! I will say, one of my favorite customer service experiences here in Edinburgh! I have no idea what these bad reviews down below are all about! Which is upsetting of how hard they work for their customers. But the food was excellent! Unique dishes, fresh squeezed juice, great pancakes. When back in Edinburgh, will Most definitely VISIT here over and over again! Enjoy. Thank you EM’s Kitchen for a great time.”

  “Came here twice during our stay in Edinburgh and it was lovely!! So many brunch options! The Nutella hot chocolate was delicious!! Natalia was so kind and friendly!! Would definitely come back!!”

  “Lovely brunch spot, which really stands out with its lovely pink walls and pink flowers from the outside. The staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in and the service was super quick, drinks came within 5 minutes of ordering and the food about 10 minutes later. We both had the biscoff pancakes, and swapped the blueberries and strawberries for banana, which was no problem. They were absolutely delicious! Generous portion size indeed. The Nutella hot chocolate was also lovely and creamy. I would definitely come back for the service and the food. Only critique would be the decor and atmosphere inside. It was surprisingly quite and we felt as though we had to whisper to talk to each other, the tables are quite close together which was a bit uncomfortable. The furniture also looked a bit cheap (plastic chairs). However, I do understand that there is only a certain amount of space available. I think a little TLC with the indoor decor is all that is needed. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, especially the food, and we will definitely be back!”
