Quick info
About Café W, Waterstones
Café W, Waterstones is a coffee shop in Doncaster, set inside the Waterstones bookshop in the Frenchgate Centre at Unit 27. Guests can take books from the shop to a table and read them over a drink, so the café works as a place to browse before buying. The drinks list includes a Cappuccino, and the hot chocolate comes with marshmallows and cream, with optional added flavourings. Cakes and food are available for those on the go. The team brings items to the table and collects cups afterwards. A Waterstones card can be used here and collects points toward books, and the café also has its own reward card. A view out to the minster in the distance completes the setting.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the staff, describing them as friendly, helpful and lovely, with one noting they carry items to the table and collect cups for a customer who struggles to carry them, and another recalling a counter worker who offered to clean a newly bought thermo cup and fill it for a discount. The coffee comes next, with a cappuccino called brilliant and another reviewer calling it the best they have had anywhere, while a hot chocolate comes with plenty of marshmallows and cream. Cakes and food are described as delicious and fresh, and the Waterstones card and a little reward card earn mentions. Many describe sitting with a book, a friend or a coffee in a comfortable, soothing room, with one praising the view toward the minster. The one recurring gripe is small: a reviewer calls the toilets horrible and asks that they be kept as clean as the cafe. Another hopes the space can be extended, and one reviewer calls the prices reasonable.

“Has to be the best cafe in town. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Had some new staff hasn't taken them long to fit in to the way that things are working and as usual the other staff are absolutely great no wonder why they make it the best cafe in doncaster. The prices are still very reasonable and the food fresh. I do hope they can extend it some, keep on the good work”
