About Aurea Restaurant

Aurea Restaurant runs as an evening dining room on Crackenedge Lane, in Dewsbury town centre. The Yorkshire Nihari draws people in specifically, and it sits on a menu that also carries Katwa Ghosht and Lahori Machli, with curries forming a core part of the cooking. Vegetarian options appear across the menu, so mixed groups can order from the same list. Meals are brought to the table, and the manager or hosts check back during service. The kitchen also packs orders for takeaway, which suits anyone eating at home rather than in the dining room. Doors open daily, in the evenings only, and reservations are recommended if you want a table at a set time. Starters, breads and rolls fill out the rest of the order, and mocktails are available for those skipping alcohol with their meal.

Customer Review Summary

The lamb chops starter is what reviewers name most, described as tender and falling off the bone, and several expressly recommend it to others. Close behind is the Yorkshire Nihari, singled out as rich, full of flavour and tender, with one diner also picking out the Katwa Ghosht, Lahori Machli and masala chips from a larger order. Others praise the authentic curries, the chicken bruschetta and mocktails called refreshing and generously poured. The decor and low music draw repeated comment, described as beautiful and elegant, and several mention being checked on frequently by the manager and hosts even when the room was busy. The dissent is narrower but concrete: one reviewer found the paratha roll filling lacking in flavour, the Romali roti no different from a normal roti and the piña colada mojito disappointing, while another felt portions could be larger though the quality held up. One party mentions receiving a free gift and an opening-week discount.

Visited Aurea Restaurant today. The food was amazing, especially the Yorkshire Nihari it was really tasty and rich full of flavour. The starters were excellent too, especially the lamb chops and the chicken bruschetta, both cooked perfectly and really enjoyable. The mocktails were also very refreshing and well made, which made the whole experience even better. The service was excellent as well, and the manager really stood out by making sure everything was okay, which made us feel very welcomed. I’ll definitely will be a returning customer. ☺️

The manager was very attentive too and helped us decide with no complaints. Would definitely recommend!!

Chicken curry was nice. But piña colada mojito and paratha rolls wasn't nice and Romali roti just looked and tasted like a normal roti. Filling of paratha rolls lacked in flavour. And same with atmosphere, there was …

Had a lovely meal here 😊 The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the decor is beautiful. All of the dishes were amazing, especially the lamb which was cooked perfectly! Despite it being quite busy, we were seated and served straight away and the hosts came to check on us frequently. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning in the new year 😊

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
