Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most praise the canalside setting, with outdoor seating and views of the boats, alongside food they call very nice. The burger and chips earn the strongest praise, with crispy chips and a smoky bbq flavour, and one suggests adding jalapeño and bacon. “Lovely little canal side pub. Very nice food. Plenty of seating in and out”

“Had a drink and some food after a walk up the flight of locks. Place looked closed from the outside, and on entry the group of locals at the door didn’t give the best welcoming vibes. But the lovely las behind the bar was very helpful and served us at our table. The burger and chips were amazing!! 10/10 easy. Chips were crispy in a way I’ve not had before and the burger, despite being only 4oz was absolutely delicious and filling, with a deep Smokey bbq flavour from however they cooked it. Go for the extra jalapeño and bacon, you won’t regret it. Sat outside to eat next to canal. All round very impressed.”

“Honestly this place has potential but its not used any of it. My main takeaway from here is it was filthy. As you walk to the toilets you see into the staff area which is frankly disgusting a massive layer of dust on the floors, untidy and perhaps even a fire hazard ! The steps to the raised dining area disgusting a wipe would help. The carpet full of dog hair I am not against dogs in pubs at all but this was covered in dog hair I only noticed as my baby wanted to crawl. The cushions in the chairs stained. The reception from the staff two female waitresses was less than warm and friendly. No immediate greeting and asking us what we wanted we were loitering and had to ask. The food. Well some of it was ok it is pub food after all but the kids burger looked like it was a frozen burger not fresh or homemade. It was sent back once as it was too charred for little girls liking. When it reappeared by relative made a comment that it looked like the same burger to which the staff member bit her head off and was very snappy. Overall I wouldnt bother I had over seas relatives with me and I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable with the service. Go further down the canal to the cafe.”
