About The Broadway

The Broadway is a pub on Duffield Rd in Derby, operating as part of a chain. Brunch is offered alongside the usual pub format, and dogs are welcome. The kitchen has been known to run out of dishes during busy periods, and food timing from the kitchen can stretch when a delivery arrives. Parking is available on site, though drivers need to register their registration with staff to avoid a fine. Crumbly plaster shows on the interior walls.

Customer Review Summary

Across multiple visits, reviewers single out the staff as the standout, praising how attentive and patient the team is even during busy periods and late nights, with several highlighting how they "couldn't do enough to help." The food draws more mixed reactions: many describe it as lovely or great, while a few flag real issues, including undercooked chips and a sloppy banoffee pudding that arrived with melted ice cream, and one delivery order arriving burnt and inedible. Close behind, the pub's family-friendly feel and beer selection earn repeat mentions, and several point to good service from named team members. A quieter note runs through a handful of reviews about the building itself, with crumbly plaster and tired walls still visible despite past refurbishment, alongside a request for a wider cask range with more local picks. One first-time visitor also describes leaving with a parking fine, citing unclear signage and feeling the staff were not forthcoming about entering a registration. Most say they would happily return, and several flag the team going out of their way to apologise or rectify things when a meal went wrong.

“"Its alright. Building needs attention even though problems have been apparent for a while. Plus points are nice staff and good housekeeping." My review from 8 years ago. Had improved a reasonable amount since food is a decbt anmount better. There still is crumbly plaster on the walls even though the pub was refurbished in the passed time. The bar would improve with a better selection of cask, including some local picks.”

“Quiet evening after a busy day. Food was lovely and service was excellent. Due to a busy day, some meals had sold out.”
  • Tricia Darlow
“Visited here three times on a recent visit to the area. Visit one, staff behind bar and on the floor couldn't do enough for us even though it was busy. Food was as expected for a pub chain. Not disappointing, not exceptional. Visit 2, late night, last orders. Again, bar staff were brilliant and patient, despite some rowdy customers following their visit to a local gig at chucking out time. Visit three, Brunch time, staff again, brilliant. Food took a while to come, but they'd just had a delivery so we're dealing with that. Chef even came out to see us to apologise. Would definitely return if down that way”
