About Seven Wells
Seven Wells is a pub on Heage Ln in Derby, with a separate restaurant area alongside the pub side. A farmers market runs in the car park and extends inside the pub, so a visit can combine browsing the market with a meal or a drink. Food and drinks can be ordered through the app, and drinks come with table service. The kitchen cooks fajitas, and the vegan options include a vegan breakfast and vegan chips, which are cooked in an oven to avoid cross contamination. Dogs are given biscuits.

Customer Review Summary
Food at family meals draws the most comment, with reviewers calling it good, hot and good value, and the fajitas singled out as absolutely delicious. Close behind are the friendly staff, a great beer selection and a relaxed atmosphere for a chat. The recurring complaints are about service and kitchen consistency. One table waited an hour for Sunday dinner with no staff checking in and tables left uncleared. Others describe slow service, lukewarm food and cold, very salty chips. A vegan breakfast arrived with bloomer toast instead of sourdough, browning guacamole and salty mushrooms. At another table, a wrong order was met with silence from the waitress. A farmers market spilling inside left the bar area cramped for some, and one family had to collect their own cutlery and ask separately for knives and spoons. Regulars stop in for a lovely coffee after a dog walk, and the dog biscuits get a mention. One PTA group was offered a private area for their next meeting.

“Came in for breakfast this morning and it was truly disgusting. I ordered the vegan breakfast with sourdough toast. When it came, I was given bloomer toast instead of sourdough which came completely dry without any vegan spread so I had to spread my beans and brown sauce on just so I could eat it. The guacamole was turning brown, the mushrooms were extremely salty, and the hash browns were completely inedible because they’d been cooked in a filthy oven. My friend ordered eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce looked like something that had been vomited on to the plate and he said it didn’t taste any better than it looked. The server was polite enough but didn’t come back to check everything was okay with the food once it had been served. I suspect she knew the quality was appalling and simply didn’t want to have to deal with the negative feedback. All in all, I’d strongly advise to steer clear of the Seven Wells if you want a decent breakfast.”

“Currently here having Sunday dinner in the pub side due to no available seats in restaurant. Pub side is extremely quiet just us and another family. Both tables waited 1 hour for food. No staff been to check if everything was ok. Tables not being cleared once finished. Never had a dinner so dry, was so disappointed as all reviews are good and my husband had a meal from main menu and really enjoyed it.”

“Had a great visit as always! The fajitas were absolutely delicious—definitely a favourite dish. A special mention to Louise, who was serving us on her first shift. She did a fantastic job—friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. Wishing her all the best in her new role. Looking forward to our next visit!”

“Regularly call in for a coffee after our dog walk. Sarah and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The coffee is lovely and very reasonably priced. Mabel likes her dog biscuits too!”

“Four of us went for a meal, one was completely wrong & when we told the waitress, she didn't say anything. Also, if you happen to be vegan, don't order chips/fries- they have absolutely no colour & not crisp at all (advised they're cooked in oven to avoid cross contamination, understand that, but just have a separate fryer for vegan food). Best of it is, no one ordered a vegan meal, that's where it all went wrong!”
