  “Went to Oven last night (31/07/2026) with my family to celebrate my birthday, and had such a lovely night. The food was amazing… tasty, good quality and great value for money. I was even given a complimentary dessert (with a candle to blow out 😊)…. A lovely surprise. The service was excellent too. The 2 girls serving were lovely…. a real credit to the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back…. Thank you 😊”

  “Great experience at Oven Restaurant in Darlington. the staff were welcoming, attentive and made us feel looked after without being over the top. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making it a really enjoyable place to sit and enjoy a meal. The food was excellent – generous portions, freshly prepared and full of flavour. There’s a great variety on the menu so everyone can find something they’ll enjoy, and the quality is impressive for the price. What stood out most was the value for money Whether it’s a casual lunch, family meal or a special occasion, Oven delivers a great experience. Will definitely be returning and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Darlington.”

  “Food was amazing. The staff were lovely. And with those prices you are lucky to get them for a happy hour elsewhere. And with the quality of the food we were blown away. The portion sizes as well were generous. We have been meaning to come back here for a while and are glad we did. We will be returning here very soon.”

  “Christmas day! We've been going to the Oven for 4/5 years and lots in between! And loved every meal...but sadly. Today the Christmas dinner was not up to their usual standard! Sprouts were the only change to Sundsy lunch! Had to go upstairs though originally requested downstairs!! Sorry to say...but no atmosphere, chesp tacky crackers, cold veg and food, pate starter was awful...pudding was lovely! I don't normally leave a morsal when we eat here! But not impressed today....sorry!!”

  “Fabulous from start to finish. Visited with my Fiancé and a friend. I had Tiger prawns starter, hot shot parmo (one of the best I've ever had), and finished with Baklava (delish) This was our waitress Jordan's recommendation for me. And Jack, the chef, definitely deserves the recognition.”

  “After wondering around Darlington, looking for somewhere to eat, I came across this place. I was going to order a chicken parmo, but after looking at their facebook page, I realised this was not there speciality abd they didn't look great, so instead, I ordered a southern fried chicken burger. The burger came with chips and one onion ring, the first bite the burger tasted okay the burger sauce tasted a bit like big msc sauce from mcdonalds, but the more I ate I realised half of the burger was inedible. It was too tough. The chicken was like a brick. I mentioned this, and she offered to replace it for a different meal, which I politely declined, so she comped it off instead. The chips were average, and the onion ring was made using fresh onion. My partner ordered red wine rosemary steak, which she said was average, not amazing, and the mash was definitely store bought. The table next tk us also complained as we left. Would not return here.”

  “I visited two weeks ago with my friend and our children. I managed to get a parking space straight outside, which due to mobility issues I was pleased about. Table service and excellent customer service received. We were all very happy with our meals and as we visited during happy hour our meals were so well priced. I took a photo of my starter and dessert but forgot about the main course photo. I have visited this restaurant frequently for many years and also occasionally have Sunday dinners delivered and I am looking forward to visiting again soon.”

  “We went for Mother’s Day. Prices are reasonable but the food quality is poor. The fish cakes were clearly just frozen and then deep fried. The tartar sauce was squeezed on like a child has done it. The pate came with bread not toast. Just no pride in the presentation. The Yorkshire’s were home made and massive and the gravy was delicious but the “stuffing” was just cooked sausage meat I think. Not even a whiff of some paxo! The staff looked like they wanted to be anywhere but at work and they had no ice for drinks. Toilets were disgusting. Someone had clearly been sick all down the back of the toilet. The whole place needs a good refresh and the prices could be raised if they used better quality ingredients and made things from scratch. Overall I would not rush back and would not recommend this restaurant.”
