  “We placed a large order with Cockerton Fisheries for a Friday evening. Arranged everything with Sam who was super helpful and our order was ready at 7pm as promised. All the food including gluten free was superb, beautiful fish with crispy batter but moist fish! An excellent choice of meal for hungry metal detectorists camping in a remote field. Thanks Sam and the team at Cockerton fisheries 10/10.”

  “Absolutely amazing fish and chips (sausage is good too). Staff are wonderful and it has a lovely little seating area outside. Get an ice-cream after as well, real Mr Whippy wow, just wow. Best chippy in Darlington. Their curry sauce is lovely as well as their mushy peas. Cannot fault anything I have had from here”

  “I was really looking forward to trying this shop after hearing so many good reviews. This was dissapointing though Friday afternoon warm ups on what is typically fish and chip day. I was going to return for fish and chips another day but sadly think ill give it a miss.”

  “Just want to say how hardworking the staff are here, arrived on closing time pretty much was expecting them to limit customers entering store, but carried on cooking fresh orders well after half 6. Had large Haddock chips and mushy peas, was absolutely perfect, been in before and chips weren't the best but seen a drastic improvement this time!”

  “Something definitely amiss with Cockerton Fisheries. We’re weekly customers and absolutely love the food but for the last couple of weeks the batter has been undercooked, fish smaller and so greasy and as for the chips, not at all as good as usual.”

  “Travelled 30 mins as recommend from a friend. Chips were like scraps, expensive, husband found 2 bones in his fish understanding this happens but usually we give some to our daughter, luckily this time she wanted sausage which she left it was over cooked and greasy. Never again and the award on the window they must have paid for. Told the lady when no one was in for some respect, about the bones and she said…. Well it happens. I understand this the odd one but it shouldn’t and not 2 of them; especially when you’re paying those prices.”
