Customer Review Summary
Cod and chips draws the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly describing the batter as thin and crispy and the portions generous, sometimes a saveloy or a chip roll ordered alongside. Several call out the "old school" heritage feel of the shop and the friendly, quick service on busy orders. Close behind, though, is a recurring complaint about pricing, with multiple reviewers calling the cost "extortionate" or "sky high" compared to Indian or Chinese takeaway, and one flagging an extra delivery charge tacked on top of Uber's own fee. A couple of experiences turn sharper: one reviewer reports the fish and other meats are cooked in the same fryer, and another describes receiving the wrong order, then being met with a dismissive attitude and no follow-up call when they went back to complain.

“The food is quite nice but the prices are expensive. Also when i get a delivery from Uber and pay the uber delivery, why does Golden fish also charge £3 for delivery when it’s not even them delivering it. And that’s on top of the fees they also charge. I just don’t get it. It’s robbery.”

“Almost thought I found the perfect fish and chip shop. But they cook all the meat in one fryer. So fish and pork is mixed in one sorry”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
