On Becontree Avenue in Dagenham, QQ Grill, Restaurant & Lounge operates as a West African restaurant and bar where the kitchen turns out pounded yam with egusi soup, grilled turkey and a suya plate that has drawn mixed notes from diners. The lounge side runs alongside the dining room for drinks. Counter orders cover both eat-in meals and takeaway, with phone-ahead collection common. Eat-in visits come with the occasional observation of delivery staff moving through the dining space during service, and pre-ordered takeaways have sometimes run well past their quoted times. “I ordered 3 plates of pounded yam and egusi soup. The soup was salty and tasted rancid. They added 2 ridiculous small chicken wings to each portion of the egusi soup. The suya again had another terrible taste. My overall experience with my order was extremely poor. The guy behind the till was another rude and unprofessional dude. I will not visit there again, and I will not recommend the restaurant to anyone.”

“Firstly, Sophia the server here is so rude. Like I've experienced rude but hers was another level. She walked off after my friend asked her to add to her order. She even did the 'mumu' expression when I challenged her rudeness. The food was also mid. Chunks missing from the fish, the ata in the side was predominantly oil. Suya came out burnt, so hard and dry. We sent it back. Ordered grilled turkey but it was lightly seasoned and also not grilled for long enough. She said 10-15 mins for turkey but we didn't get it till 30 mins later. My last few visits here was pleasant but after this I won't be back. Management need to do proper customer service training. The male server tonight was better than Sophia at least.”

“Food is great. Music is good. Atmosphere not so good with delivery guys walking back and forth through the restaurant while one is trying to have a quiet meal. Having to wait 40 minutes extra after being told takeaway order over phone would be ready after 40 minutes wasn't fun yesterday 😣. Not even an apology!”
  • Bisola Oj
“I’m not usually someone who leaves negative reviews, but I was genuinely disappointed with my order. I specifically requested that my food be made spicy. When it arrived, there was no spice at all. When I called to ask about it, I was told, “We don’t know your level of spice.” If that was the case, why didn’t anyone call to clarify before preparing my order? This is now the third time this has happened, and it’s becoming really frustrating. It feels like my requests are simply being ignored, and food isn’t cheap.I don’t have money to waste on meals I can’t enjoy. To make matters worse, the meat pie arrived cold, as though it had just been taken straight out of the fridge. It was really off-putting. Next time, before I place an order, I will definitely think twice.”

“if i could 0 i would. ordered a "glass bottle of nigerian coke" they gave me a can of regular coke. £23 for burnt shit”
