About Bella Italia - Croydon
Bella Italia on Hesterman Way is an Italian restaurant in Croydon serving pasta, pizza and risotto, with vegan and gluten-free sections on the menu and a lounge bar at the front of the room. The kitchen is open, so the cooking line is visible from the dining area, and the restaurant is halal, an unusual fit for an Italian menu. Walk-ins are accepted throughout the day, and a private dining room at the back takes group bookings. The team, including Anna, Kasia and Aimee, runs both the floor and the bar, keeping service steady at peak times.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers praise the friendly service, with several singling out the staff's attentiveness and warmth toward children. The food is described as very tasty, and a few diners call the team and overall experience wonderful. One Bank Holiday visit, however, stands out for a long wait for mains, a missing dish that still appeared on the bill, and front-of-house staff who avoided eye contact, leaving that reviewer unwilling to return.

“Visited this location on Bank Holiday Monday. Waited 7 minutes to be seated even though the restaurant was about less than a Quarter full. When sat, the staff were friendly enough though the atmosphere in the restaurant was tense. Orders were taken without incident but the wait time was appalling considering how empty it was. The open kitchen style gave a front row view to the dysfunction going on. We waited 30 minutes for our mains and never got part of the meal we ordered (it showed up on the bill though) Another table that was there before us left because they had waited an hour for their meal the manager barely turned around to face them while offering a half hearted sorry. At this point I noticed that one of the members of wait staff had gone into the kitchen to pitch in, which made the front of house service even slower. The table behind us were there before us and still hadn't got their food. After a fairly ordinary meal, I tried to flag someone to get the bill but the staff here have perfected the ability to move around without making eye contact with any customers. In the end I walked up to the bar to ask for and settle my bill. I won't be returning any time soon”
