About Peking Inn
Peking Inn is a Chinese takeaway in Croydon where one counter serves both Chinese dishes and fish-and-chips, so a single order can cover both. Customer Review Summary
Friendly, chatty counter staff are the draw most positive reviewers return to, with several describing a quick chat while collecting an order that was ready on time. Regulars praise the chips from the chippy side, with decent portions, and the Chinese set meal deals, calling the food tasty and hot. Other reviewers are sharply critical. They describe tasteless, overcooked crispy shredded chilli beef, fried chicken in Peking sauce that tasted like honey with no spice, and an order of special chow mein, beef black bean, pork Chinese style and chicken balls that was extremely salty. One reviewer reports an attitude problem from a man behind the counter. A reviewer with a poultry allergy says sweet and sour chicken was substituted for pork without any warning. Another reports that their wife was sick after eating chips, which they attribute to dirty oil. The most detailed complaint describes food that arrived cold and congealed and had to be reheated in the microwave.

“I have previously ordered great food from here but today was a surprise. I ordered fried chicken Peking sauce with the spicy symbol and steamed rice. But what I got was not even close to Peking sauce, it was horrible. I had one bite and spat it out. It had no spice tasted like honey mixed with chicken . I wanted to take it back to return it but unfortunately they were closed. I am pretty disappointed because I used my last pound on the food. Now I have to take cereal to make up for dinner.”

“Peking inn peking out. Telephoned my order and was told 20 minutes. Arrived in 15 minutes and food was ready and waiting. Arrived home and food was cold and congealed. Had to heat in the microwave. Not impressed with the taste either. All of the food was extremely salty. Had special chow mein, beef black bean, pork Chinese style and chicken balls. All of which was unacceptable. I will not be returning to Peking inn New Addington. They peking ducked up.”

“I always enjoy my meal from Peking Inn. The family are nice and work hard - thank you. I usually prefer Peking Inn to other Chinese restaurants and I love that it's local too. Also I like that this isn't delivered picking it up is much nicer, fresher food better for the environment and you can thank the staff. I like the chips on the other side too, decent portions and tasty!”
