Customer Review Summary
Generous portions are the most common praise, noted for a meal for four and for chicken chow mein, with the crispy beef, chilli beef and mushroom fried rice singled out as highlights. One reviewer also calls the woman at the counter friendly. Several say quality is slipping, though. Complaints name thick, undercooked batter on chicken balls and prawn balls, a dry Singapore rice with a chlorine smell and tiny chunks of chicken, bland chicken fried rice, sweet and sour sauce like water, and chow mein that was oily yet dry. Service attitude is the other recurring complaint. Several describe a rude or dismissive woman on the phone, and one says they were called a liar when chasing a delivery that took far longer than quoted. Another mentions long waits. One reviewer who ordered fried rice received plain boiled rice with no soy sauce and was told by the restaurant that soy sauce has to be requested.

“We have used number 1 for years and it has always been perfect... until today. Chilli beef was as good as always but chicken balls were the biggest let down ever. Thick, undercooked butter with the smallest amount of chicken. Not the usual standard so no idea if chefs changed or they are saving money but I will not be back.”

“Not good. Chicken fried rice was very bland, prawn ball batter was to thick and the sweet and sour sauce was like water. Won’t be going back”

“Ordered ‘fried rice’ we got boiled rice no soy sauce. When we called the restaurant they were extremely dismissive and said we have to state we want soy sauce. Will not be ordering from here again don’t recommend”

“Food was great quality and good sized portions & the lady in there was very friendly. Only thing was they cut a corner off one of the tub lids so that leaked a bit in the bag?”
