About The Roseycombe

On Rugby Road in Coventry, The Roseycombe is a restaurant with a separate bar area for drinks and a covered outdoor seating section that overlooks a large open play area. The menu lists several vegetarian options beyond the standard vegetable lasagne and pizza, and the kitchen plates up its food hot. The team takes table bookings over the phone and regularly seats large parties, including groups of around seventeen. Dogs are welcome alongside families, and the layout gives children room to run while adults finish their meal.

Customer Review Summary

The clearest recurring complaint comes from a booking that was not honoured for a 55th wedding anniversary, which a diner describes as having destroyed the night despite later apologies from the manager. Another reviewer reports an uncomfortable interaction with a staff member who made snarky comments toward their wife, an account that stands alone in the reviews.

“Excellent meal, excellent service from friendly, attentive staff. Good value for money but more importantly, quality food and we will definitely keep coming back.”

“I telephoned The Roseycombe at 3.22pm Wednesday 26th August 2026 and booked a table for two, my wife and I at 7pm. The phone was answered by a young male who took my detail and my phone number. The booking was special as my wife has just come out of hospital having undergone surgery and this was her first time out and in addition to this it was our 55th wedding anniversary. We arrived at The Roseycombe at 6.55pm, my wife using walking aids, and entered. We walked to the check in desk and passed my details on and were told that there was no booking for us recorded. I then showed the young female my phone showing my contact with the premises on the day, date and time I mentioned. Didn't make a lot of difference and her response was that there were no tables in the restaurant area, she could see if she could find some where in the bar area but that was highly unlikely to. Did I want to celebrate my wedding anniversary in the bar with my wife. I don't think so. I was not happy and made it known. We left The Roseycombe an after a couple phone call managed to book another restaurant. I then telephoned The Roseycombe to register feelings and the fact my wife's special night had been totally destroyed. I spoke with the manager of the premises who apologised several times and enquired if i was still in the area and that something would be sorted. That offer was refused.”

“Not a good experience at all someone called mason was being very weird towards my wife making snarky comments won’t be going again”
  • Neil Milbourne
“Superb service for a large party of 17 for a dual birthday celebration food and service were both superb 5 star only gripe is that window needs blinds as the afternoon sun was in several guests eyes . Your staff made a valiant attempt to block the sun but blinds would be so much easier. Again faultless service. Neil milbourne”
