  “I've read all research reviews and they are mostly about the chippy side of the food which have good ratings . . . . Well I went in as it says its a cafe as well , I ordered a full English breakfast . . . OMG heart attack city ! Absolutely everything saturated in fat , everything had been cooked in boiling hot oil where they fry the chips , the bacon , sausage , eggs and mushrooms were completely dripping in fat ! Straight in the bin . . . Never Again for me !!”

  “Popped in here cos Harry Haddock’s is on holiday, and was really glad I did. Small (but actually quite big) fish, chips, peas and a drink worked out around £8 each, was cooked from scratch, and the batter was lovely. My mum said it was the nicest fish she’d had for ages (and she is very particular), so we’ll be back.”

  “I went in to Ocean cafe for the first time today. And it was a great experience. The staff member was so kind & friendly, very welcoming. There were some really good cheap deals on, so gave it a go. And the food was fresh & lovely &> big portion sizes too. I was really impressed & will be going again. I highly recommend Ocean Cafe. The staff are fabulous.”

  “I don’t say this lightly—this is some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. The fish was absolutely spot on: perfectly flaky, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The batter was light, crisp, and not greasy at all—exactly how proper fish and chips should be done. You can tell straight away they care about quality and don’t cut corners. The chips were equally impressive—golden, fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crunch. Proper chip shop chips, not the soggy or overly dry kind you often get elsewhere. What really stood out was the consistency and attention to detail. Everything was cooked fresh, served hot, and just felt like it had been done properly—not rushed, not mass-produced. Service was friendly and efficient, and the place had that authentic, traditional feel that’s getting harder to find these days. In a world where a lot of places have dropped standards, this shop is doing it right. If you’re anywhere nearby, it’s absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommended—this is what fish and chips should taste like.”

  “Tried this place today for the first time. As going past the chicken kebab looked lovely. I went in. Friendly staff. I ordered food nipped to shop. They had food ready within a few mins of my return. Chicken kebab was really tasty and the chips fresh and not greasy. I will definitely go back”
