Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the pastel de natas, with some saying they beat the ones eaten in Portugal and come fresh out of the oven. Close behind are the bifana, francesinha and the Portuguese coffee, with the fish soup, chicken steak, meat croquette, cod cake and loaded fries each named by a reviewer. Staff are described repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and portions are called generous and good value. Sitting outside by the canal on a sunny day is a recurring pleasure, and several say it feels like Portugal or Porto. The one caveat is that it gets busy, and a few suggest booking ahead, especially for weekend lunches. One reviewer also notes very few plant-based options. Visitors also mention the mini-mart style shop selling Portuguese products, and one reviewer left having ordered a few starters to share, mains and cakes for dessert.

“Today... I went to Portugal. I didn't travel, I was transported. This hidden gem tucked away by the canal might just be Coventry's best cafe. They use Portuguese coffee beans to make delightful coffee and serve pastel de natas akin to Portugal's best. On a sunny day the vibes are immaculate, sitting out side enjoying the coffee with the canals as views, just make the whole experience. It really does feel like you're in Europe. The staff are so friendly and make you feel the most welcome. You can immediately tell they are treated well by the owner. This place fills me with so much joy and I recommend everyone to come here especially if they're missing that sole European holiday feel.”

“The go to place in Coventry to buy Portuguese products and have Portuguese food. The staff is friendly and helpful. When the weather is nice you can seat outside by the canal. This time we had bifana, francesinha and arroz de pato. We'll definitely come back!”
