About Sweet Things Coffee Bar & Kitchen
Sweet Things Coffee Bar & Kitchen is a brunch restaurant at 4 Regents Ct in Consett, right beside the cycle path that links to the C2C and the Waskerley Way, which makes it a stop for cyclists and walkers. Pink decorations run throughout the space. The kitchen keeps a breakfast menu and a separate day time menu, with pancakes among the dishes and cakes, bakes and shakes alongside. Live music from a singer fills some evenings, and a monthly quiz night adds another event to the calendar. A pizza truck serves the pizzas, and an evening offer pairs two of them with a side of haloumi fries.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the breakfast and coffee, with the granola bowl singled out as the best one a diner had ever eaten, alongside a veggie breakfast, a cheese toastie with salad and crisps, and a flat white for working over. Close behind are the Friday evenings, where reviewers praise the live music, the monthly quiz nights, and a pizza offer that came with haloumi fries. The pink decorations and friendly, welcoming staff come up repeatedly, and cyclists and walkers on the C2C and nearby paths describe it as an excellent stop. The only reservations are small. One walker found the veggie breakfast a little steep, though it was ample for a long walk, and another dislikes beans served in a pot. One reviewer also wants the owners to respond to the few negative reviews as well as the positive ones. Several mention that a table of seven had breakfast and drinks arrive all at once.

“Visited sweet things twice this week, breakfast menu and day time menu. Service on both occasions was excellent and the food was excellent! Best granola bowl I’ve ever had, didn’t manage to get a pic. I I hailed it! Around £80 for breakfast for all 7 of us and it all come out as once with drinks. Perfect timing! 100% returning for the future Friday events. Oh to add it’s beautifully decorated..”

“I often come here for a flat white while I get some work done, and it’s always a great experience. The service is consistently second to none, and the coffee and food are easily the best in the area. Highly recommend!”

“Fell across this amazing place a couple of friday nights ago right when a thunderstorm was starting, since been back for breakfast, coffees and cakes on a few occasions. Not only is the food amazing, the staff and owners are brilliant. Cant fault anything, not even my pet hate of beans in a pot on your breakfast can lose them a star as everything else is perfect. Keep doing what your doing guys, credit to Consett 👏🏽👏🏽👌🏽”
