  “Disappointing parking experience despite being a genuine customer I visited The Coast Inn for a seafood lunch and spent around £80 at the restaurant. Unfortunately, I later received a parking charge because I had apparently failed to enter my vehicle registration into a machine. I did not notice any clear reminder when entering the car park or restaurant, and nobody mentioned the requirement when I ordered and paid at the bar. I provided the parking company with my restaurant receipt and payment evidence, clearly showing that I was a genuine customer, but the charge was only reduced to £20 rather than cancelled. When I contacted the restaurant, I was simply told that signs were displayed. However, judging from other online reviews, I am clearly not the only genuine customer who has missed this requirement. If the system is regularly catching paying customers, the signs and staff reminders are plainly not effective enough. The food experience was overshadowed by an unnecessary parking charge. I hope the management reviews the signage, asks staff to remind customers at the point of ordering, and supports genuine customers by cancelling charges where clear proof of dining is provided.”

  “Once again over two visits over two weeks. Visit one - fish and chips backed.food cooked in old oil..disgusting Visit two - ‘raw sea bass’ backed ..(probably cooked from frozen) Money refunded - dining experience ruined. Kitchen needs shaking up. wait staff should not be subjected to complaints caused by what appears inept kitchen staff … Not happy - regular customer..please return to the great place you once were…!”

  “Ive been here every day for the last 4 days and really enjoyed the food... I arrived at 19:20 this evening to order 2 chuck burgers, onion rings, and chips.... I was told the kitchen was closed then someone ordered some cheese chips just after I was refused ... ive spent alot of money here... what is going on?... the staff are great and very helpful... I dont quite get it!?!”

  “Visited this pub with a friend had visited before but this time was able to park in their patrons only car park. Nearly 2 weeks later received a parking fine through the post, called the pub immediately and was basically told I had missed around 17 signs stating the parking situation. Myself and my friend are not blind and funnily enough looking at the other reviews from people on here it would seem that I am correct. It was also a quiet day so the staff had the opportunity to inform me of the parking. As it had been nearly 2 weeks - conveniently the letter had taken so long in the post that I had a day to pay before it became £100!. After this call I waited for the copy of the receipt to appeal (other pubs I have been to have solved these type of issues themselves, not making the customer appeal). The receipt was NOT ever sent over to me by the pub as they said they would therefore forcing me to pay while the fine was still £60! I am disappointed because I have been to this pub several times and enjoyed it but I will not be going back so I hope the Coast Inn enjoys the commission they get for my parking fine!”
