  “Overall a cool concept. The staff were super friendly and the drinks were yummy. The BBQ skewers were super dry and kind of bland and the mustard fish was super fishy (as if it’s been frozen for awhile). The buffet was decent and we enjoyed some of the food from it. Desert was a bit of a let down, soggy fried dough and dry cake and a bit of fruit. Wouldn’t go again. About an hour after leaving I felt really sick and the rest of the evening I was throwing up. The restaurant is beautiful and has so much potential. Just a simple fix of the quality of food and it’ll be sorted.”

  “Great experience, highly recommend! Delicious food and excellent service. Loved the unique setup where you can grill at your table and also enjoy a buffet with plenty of options. The mango kheer and sevaiya kheer were amazing, a must try! The shisha selection was well explained, and the blueberry & lychee mix was perfect. We’ll definitely be back!”

  “BBQ lounge is the most fabulous little gem of The Hythe. We were welcomed by the most polite and helpful staff you could wish for, they could not have been more attentive. We loved the table-top bbq and selection of starters on the table, as well the buffet selection. We could have finished our meal there, but so glad we didn't! The selection of mains is wide enough for everyone to find something to suit them. The Lamb Saag is exceptional, with melt in the mouth chucks of lamb in a mild curry, which is the best I've had in Colchester, but my favourite had to be the Prawn and mango curry, a sweet and savoury mild dish packed with delicious prawns. Also recommend the Katsu chicken, lemon chicken starter, and bbq Paneer. Thank you BBQ Lounge, see you soon.”
